Wonderfalls

If you’re looking for a quirky, completely insane and yet completely lovable show to watch - look no further than Wonderfalls.
It was an overlooked, 13 episode comedy that was cancelled well before its time. It still managed to completely resolve its storylines within those episodes, so it’s entirely watchable.
I know what you’re thinking. The premise sounds like the most ridiculous piece of garbage you’ve ever heard. You’re probably right. Yet this show is so unbelievably well-written and entertaining it pokes fun at itself. Jaye is convinced she’s insane, but she obeys the voices anyway. It’s quite similar to Joan of Arcadia, only Jaye doesn’t know the source of the voices and there are none of the preachy religious undertones.
Wonderfalls is available on DVD and is definitely worth a look. The characters are all extremely fun and quirky, and Jaye, played by French-Canadian actress Caroline Dhavernas, is one of the most entertaining female leads to come along in a good long while. Many of the writers came to this show directly from Buffy and Firefly, so that should tell you something about the level of quality and the type of comedy you can expect.
