Supernatural: "Eat it, Twilight!"

August 4th 2010 16:37

Kids. "These days all they care about are their iPhones and those kissing vampire movies." I always loved the scene above when Dean stakes the vampires and growls, "Eat it, Twilight." (in case you missed it, see video below) I laughed, I grinned, I wished they would do an episode just like this:

From TV Guide:

"We're doing an episode about how vampires pretending to be Edward Cullen or the Salvatore brothers or Bill Compton are bad for you," Supernatual showrunner Sera Gamble tells TV Guide Magazine.

At the CW/Showtime/CBS party during the annual Television Critics Association press tour, the creepy drama's exec producer revealed that one of Season 6's upcoming episodes (tentatively titled "Live Free or Twi-Hard") will take fans' ongoing obsession with undead hotties and hand it to Dean and Sam for a little skewering. "There's a mythology reason [as to why] we are revisiting a lot of monsters we've dealt with before on the show...including vampires," says Gamble. "And when we were conceptualizing a vampire episode, we thought, 'Wow there's never been a better time to be a vampire.' Chicks are just throwing themselves at them! They think that 'vampire' equals 'I'm not going to try to have sex with you.'" Of course, in a world where vamps actually exist, that kind of thinking can get you killed. Or worse. "They will still take advantage of our children! They will turn you into a vampire or eat you." Maybe if that original title doesn't fly, they can go with "There Will Be True Blood."

Yes! Guess some wishes do come true, huh? Can't wait!

MCC Theater (Robert LuPone, Bernard Telsey, Artistic Directors; William Cantler, Associate Artistic Director; Blake West, Executive Director) today announced that David Duchovny ("The X-Files," "Californication") will make his New York stage debut in the world premiere production of Neil LaBute's The Break of Noon, directed by Jo Bonney, a co-production with the Geffen Playhouse (Gil Cates, Producing Director; Randall Arney, Artistic Director; Ken Novice, Managing Director) Rehearsals begin September 28, and performances in New York will begin at the Lucille Lortel Theatre (121 Christopher Street, NYC) on October 28; performances in Los Angeles will begin in previews on January 25 with an official opening on February 2, 2011. Mr. Duchovny will be performing in the New York portion of the run; casting for Los Angeles will be announced at a later date.

In LaBute's newest play, Mr. Duchovny will star as John Smith, a man who, amidst the chaos and horror of the worst office shooting in American history, sees the face of God. His modern-day revelation creates a maelstrom of disbelief among everyone he knows. A newcomer to faith, John urgently searches for a modern response to the age-old question: at what cost salvation?

It's about time! I was wondering when Broadway would finally start calling.

Rumor has it that X-files veteran Mitch Pileggi (a.k.a. Walter Skinner, a.k.a. Sam and Dean's flash-back grandpa) will be back next season in Supernatural, possibly in a recurring role! To refresh your memory, Samuel Campbell appeared in S4's 'In the Beginning' when Dean was sent back in time Back to the Future style to see how his parents became hunters. Er, well, how his mom was already a hunter, his dad became one, and why the Yellow-Eyed Demon came after their family years later. Considering how we left him, it'll be interesting to see how they bring him back.

Today was quite a busy day in the sci-fi fandom world. First there was The X-files IBG charity event in California, then the Supernatural Chicago con. How I would have loved to be at both! Sadly, I got to go to neither, however the greatness of the internet allows all us poor souls who didn't get to go a look at some of what happened
