The Office - Branch Closing
November 11th 2006 00:15
Jan informs Michael that the branch is closing, spurring him to head to New York with Dwight in toe to save the office and everyone's jobs. Everyone starts to plan their futures without Dunder Mifflin - and some are happier than others. Meanwhile, Jim is told he will be promoted to second in command at the new merged Stamford branch, until his boss admits he was offered another position and took it. Jan gets pissy and has to make some calls, and reveals that the Stamford branch will be forced to close instead, taking Jim back to Scranton and saving the office.
Hehe. GREAT episode. One of the best so far this season. An extended version is available on the NBC website. Jim was hilarious sending Dwight faxes from his future self - still messing with him from the other office. Dwight and Michael practicing what they were going to say to the board member was so funny - especially when Michael told Dwight to act more intimidated. And Jim and Pam realising they were going to have the reunion we've all been waiting for brought a serious touch to the episode, making next week an episode I am personally DYING to see. I'm looking forward to seeing how the Stamford characters mix with the Scranton ones, especially Andy (who threw an impressive, hilarious tantrum when he found out their office was the one closing), who has become a terrific addition to the cast and one of my new favourite characters. Plus seeing the look on Dwight's face when he realises Jim is now his superior will be awesome, I'm sure.
