Introducing the TV Chit Chat Forums

December 9th 2008 21:08

I’ve been thinking about this for a really long time, and have finally decided to try it out. That’s right, I’ve created my own forums dedicated to all of my favorite shows. No more running around to half a dozen sites all over the net trying to remember logins and passwords for every different forum. Whoohoo!

The main forum is HERE but for those of you interested in only one show, here's a quick link to each of the seperate message boards with the others collapsed for easier viewing.

Supernatural

Bones

Chuck

Grey's Anatomy

Heroes

House M.D.

Lost

Moonlight

Hope to see you there!

NOTE: For those of you interested in just an X-files forum, see this post HERE to learn about Paula's new site!

All Next Week's Promos in One Place

November 14th 2008 22:21
Okay guys, here it is. I don't know about you, but I find it annoying trying to go searching for all the "next week" promos for all my favorite shows, so here they are. All the promos for next week I could find in one place. Enjoy!

Bones:

LoL! I can't wait, this one looks great!

Supernatural:

Ahhhhhh! No words, no words for this one, just hurry up and be Thursday already!

Californication:

LoL Poor Hank.

Chuck (same promo, first one with subtitles ):

Hmmm...wonder how long the new girl's staying around?

Grey's Anatomy:

Whoa, whoa, whoa, what? Thanks to the weather knocking out our ABC station, I have four weeks of Grey's to catch up on! Ahhh!

Heroes:

I hope Hiro gets his powers back!

House:

I'm really liking this awkwardness with House and Cuddy and Wilson trying to get them together. LoL

Private Practice:

Actually it's only one week. The CMAs pre-empted it this week.

Okay, that's all I could find for now. If you have any requests, let me know and I'll try and find them.

Okay, that one made me a laugh out loud...

September 29th 2008 20:44
Gas prices are way up. Stocks are way down. But even in this depressing time at least Entertainment Weekly can still make you laugh.

I don't know about you guys, but I need some witty remarks. So what do you say? Here are some of this week's EW quotes that made me laugh out loud.

'The Daily Show' writers present Election Day predictions:

"The Daily Show staff confronts the stark reality that their show's stars, George W. Bush and Dick Cheney, are leaving, realizing this must have been what it was like when The X-files brought in Rober Patrick and Annabeth Gish."

Ahahah! That's great! LoL

THE EMMYS HAVE BIG PROBLEMS LUCKILY, WE HAVE SOLUTIONS

One moment said it all about last week’s Emmy Awards. Did you see when Bones’ David Boreanaz presented the Outstanding Guest Actor and Actresses in a Comedy Series awards alongside The Hills’ Lauren Conrad? Usually the most affable of actors, Boreanaz, introduced by Heidi Klum as star of The Bones, could barely bring himself to look at Conrad. His dead stare and body language said, “I was on Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel, two great shows that this academy barely even acknowledged. Now I’m acting in another hit show, and I have to hand out an award with a reality star? Get me outta here!”

Yes! That is EXACTLY what I thougth when I watched him present! Poor guy.

And then of course, there's the "What to Watch" quotes to brighten your day:
Heroes: Tonight’s plot or fortune-cookie fortune: Peter uses his past to fix the future.

Chuck: Chuck’s second season opens with the possibility that accidental superspy Chuck may be returning to civilian living. (Yes, the end of the show’s central conceit sounds totally likely.) Aside from a hilariously clunky fight scene between guest villain Michael Clarke Duncan and Chuck’s hot handler, Sarah, the show remains a game mix of satire and sweetness—although Chuck still has better chemistry with his sister Ellie than Sarah.

90210: Annie and Adriana audition for an indie film. This screams “director tries to get teens topless.” If only they could get a dose of Mrs. Walsh’s good sense…

America’s Next Top Model: The models pose as natural disasters. Would posing as a hurricane after Ike be less offensive if said hurricane was fierce?

America’s Got Talent: Finally, we find out who’s the most talented person in America. Hint: not David Hasselhoff.

My Fake Baby: More disturbing than modeling earthquakes and the Hoff? This doc about collectors of lifelike dolls with veins and beating hearts.

When Weather Changed History: I’m all about the 10-day forcast, but this is taking rain a little too seriously.

Supernatural: Set your TiVos, X-Philes! Mitch Pileggi (a.k.a. Scully and Mulder’s boss) plays Dean’s grandfather.

Okay, I admit, that last one I included just because, uh…yeah, I can’t wait...

Emmy snubs. Who would you nominate?

September 19th 2008 03:07

In three days, the people of TV will get together to congratulate each other on their awesomeness of making it through a Writers’ Strike shortened season. But a look at the list of nominees makes me think, wait a second, there’s some good people missing here…

Sure, we all have our favorites who we just “know” should have made it not only through to the nominees, but all the way to win right? Sure, maybe somewhere deep down we secretly know that, okay maybe they weren’t the best…but still…Haha

But in all seriousness, I do think there were some very good actors and actresses who were overlooked this year.

First off, let’s talk about Henry Ian Cusick, otherwise known as Desmond on Lost. Does anyone else think that he did an awesome job this year? I mean, seriously, I became a huge Desmond fan this year, and The Constant was a very complicated, very well acted episode. I’m so glad he and Penny finally found each other!

While I’m on the subject of Lost, how about Yunjin Kim and Daniel Dae Kim playing married couple Sun and Jin Kwon? I do believe their storyline was the one that made me cry the most this last year. So very sweet, and when Sun’s screaming at the end of the season when the boat blows up? I was screaming and crying just as hard! Jin’s death was just wrong! I mean seriously, he was SO CLOSE! I--Ahem, yes, well, you can see how I feel about that one…

Moving on, let’s talk a little bit about the boys of Supernatural. Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles have portrayed the Winchester brothers Sam and Dean better than any two actors I’ve ever seen play brothers. Their chemistry is amazing and don’t let the fact that this show is on the CW make you believe this is anywhere close to fluff acting. These guys are not mere eye candy people, they can seriously ACT! The depth of emotion they can play is amazing. They make me laugh, they make me cry, they make scream at the TV when anyone messes with my Winchesters! Oh yeah, and the Impala? Awesome.

If there was an award for best ensemble cast, I would have to give it to the cast of Bones. This is one show where I actually love all the characters. And that doesn’t happen to me often! David Boreanaz and Emily Deschanel have great chemistry, and the writing on this show is fantastic. Finally a crime-fighting show that actually has fully well-rounded characters that I can care about! It’s not all about the cool CSI effects, it’s about real people, witty banter, and chemistry. And I’m not talkin’ just the scientific kind.

And then there's Heroes. Granted it's definitely an ensemble cast, but if I had to pick only one person it would definitely be Masi Oka playing Hiro Nakamura. What can I say? I love the guy. His character is the one person who selflessly just wants to save the world.

On the comedy side, Zachary Levi is great in Chuck. His work as the Buy More Nerd Hearder turned secret spy computer is sweet, and funny, and the chemistry between Chuck and Casey, and Chuck and Morgan is fantastic. Maybe it’s just the geek in me, but I love these guys! And I love how the show is both a spoof and a spy show in and of itself.

David Duchovny. ‘nuff said. Oh wait, you need more? Okay, how about his work as Hank Moody, a character that we all should hate, but we can’t help but love. Honestly, I don’t think I’d like Californication if anyone else was playing Hank. David’s honest vulnerability and well-known fantastic dark wit makes Hank a guy we can all love despite his many flaws.

Finally, let’s talk about Moonlight. I know you guys know I still have a serious problem with CBS for cancelling the only vampire show I’ve ever loved (and I do mean LOVED!) Alex O'Loughlin was brilliant in this show as vampire/private investigator Mick St. John. The way he portrayed Mick, strong yet vulnerable, gave the guy an intensity and wonderful heart. Jason Dohring as witty and lovable Josef, Mick’s 400 year old best friend was great. These guys had a friendship that could rival the best of them. I so wish Moonlight would have been given another chance. With all the vampire hype this year (Twilight anyone? Tru Blood?) I bet CBS is wishing they hadn’t staked and burned our beloved Mick St. John now, huh?

Okay, well, there’s my two cents. I’m not saying that the people who were nominated didn’t deserve it, I’m just saying that it would be nice to see some of these people who’ve worked so hard for some many years on some great shows get the recognition they deserve.

So how about you guys? Who would you add to the list?
