Supernatural: Dark Side of the Moon
October 9th 2010 21:57
Sam and Dean are both shot in their hotel room, die, and end up in Heaven, where they run into and away from Zachariah, seeking shelter in none other than Ash’s spot in Heaven (which looks remarkably like the Roadhouse). The boys ask about Ellen and Jo, but Ash didn’t even know that they were dead. He hasn’t seen them. As in life, Ash has managed to put his hacking to use in Heaven and has been listening in on the angels. Ash tells them that Heaven is more like a bunch of Heavens. Everyone sees their own version, and it’s hard to navigate them all. He has however, spent some awesome time with a few famous people.
Skipping through memories, Dean’s Heaven turns out to be all his memories of his family before the horrible night of the fire. Sam’s Heaven, on the other hand, turns out to be pretty much every memory that didn’t involve his family: Having Thanksgiving at another girl’s house, his dog he had when he was out on his own. The realization that his brother’s paradise has nothing to do with him or their family, Dean is crushed. After finding Joshua, the only person who’s been able to talk to God lately, and being told to “back off”, that God already knows what’s happening, both Castiel and Dean are depressed. Sam tries to hold them together, but after hearing what Joshua’s had to say, Cas, sad and defeated, gives the amulet back to Dean, who stares sadly at his brother, then tosses the necklace into the trash. It doesn’t mean what it used to anymore.
Sam: Heaven?
Dean: Yeah.
Sam: Okay, how are we in Heaven?
Dean: All that clean living, I guess.
~*~*~
Ash: See, you got to stop thinking of Heaven as one place. It's more like a buttload of places. All crammed together. Like Disneyland. Except without all the anti-Semitism.
~*~*~
Dean: I'm dead.
Cas: Condolences.
~*~*~
Zachariah: Wow. Running from angels... on foot... in Heaven. With out-of-the-box thinking like that, I'm surprised you boys haven't stopped the Apocalypse already.
~*~*~
Sam: This is…Heaven’s Garden?
Dean: It’s nice…ish, I guess.
Joshua: You see what you want to here. For some it’s God’s Throne Room, for other’s it’s Eden. You two, I believe it’s the Cleveland Botanical Gardens. You came here on a field trip.\
~*~*~
Dean: Come on! Your Heaven is somebody else’s Thanksgiving! Okay? It’s bailing on your family! I mean what do you want me to say?
Sam: Man, I never got the crusts cut off my PB and J. I just don’t look at family the way you do!
Dean: Yeah, but I’m your family!
Sam: I know.
Dean: I mean we’re supposed to be a team. It’s supposed to be you and me against the world, right?
Sam: Dean, it is!
Dean: …Is it?
~*~*~
Joshua: This time God wants you to remember.
~*~*~
Cas: I believed in... (he turns to boys, pulls Dean’s necklace from his pocket and tosses it to him) I don’t need this anymore. It’s worthless.
Sam: Cas, wait! (Cas disappears. Sam turns to Dean, who’s studying the necklace). We’ll find another way. We can still stop all this, Dean.
Dean: How?
Sam: I dunno. But we’ll find it. You and me. We’ll find it!
(Wordlessly, Dean grabs his bag and heads for the door. He pauses by the trashcan, then lets the necklace fall into the trash.)
