Sound the alarms, TV is back! (Spring Preview)
March 25th 2008 17:29
So I was flipping through my Entertainment Weekly for this week and low and behold, there was the Spring TV Preview full of mini-spoilery goodness. Thanks to the strike most shows have been forced to condense and speed up story lines, often dropping others or saving them for next season.
This is both good and bad, but most importantly, it means we're finally getting new episodes of our favorite shows! Yay!
Here are just a few highlights that had me wishing it was April already!
When it comes to Bones, Creator Hart Hanson says, “Some [plotlines] we’ve decided just to truncate. We were gonna do stuff with Booth’s family. We were going to catch the Gravedigger. There’s only so much room.”
On the plus side, we finally get to see who our favorite medieval serial killer, Gormogon is!
Over on Grey’s Anatomy the strike has given us Addison back for a couple of episodes, and executive producer Shonda Rhimes says that, while Nurse Rose will be back for five episodes, Meredith and Derek with finally be getting together "for good. The goal was not always to get them together at the end of the season, but that is my goal now.” Do I hear wedding bells in the near future?
Over on Moonlight, Mick and Beth will have some tension to work through as he lives out his last few days being human. Executive Producer Gabrielle Stanton also hints that we’re going to get to seem some more “very happy nice” vampires too.
For Supernatural fans we’ll be dealing with the whole nail biting Dean-has-only-four-episodes-l eft-before-he-dies thing. Creator Eric Kripke tells us that, “We put almost every other story line on hold until next season. We’re gonna charge full-steam to Dean’s deal with the devil, because his soul is coming up due.” Jared Padalecki (a.k.a. Sam Winchestor) tells us that “Sam is trying new and different methods to try and save Dean. In the third episode I think we have a week left of Dean’s life, and we’re sprinting to the finish line to beat this deal that’s closing in.” Ah! I can’t wait!
On 30 Rock, we'll see the return of two of Liz's exes. Dennis the beeper salesman and Floyd who fled to Ohio. Tina Fey says, "The idea is that in the age of global warming there is an April blizzard and Floyd is on a buisness trip [in New York]. he calls Liz to ask, 'Can I stay with you?" And according to EW, "Liz will have a pregnancy scare".
Over at CSI, executive producer Carol Mendelsohn puts the team on sick leave to explain where they've been during the stirke. haha
She says, "They are all suffering from various stages of the flu. Grissom is still hoeme sick, so he has to get dragged out of bed to solve a case involving the death of a grand jury witness." Catherine goes over to talk about the case and "by the end of the episode, the audience will have a better sense of where Sara and Grissom are with their relationship."
Thank you EW! I don’t know what I’d do without you!

Pushing Daisies won’t return until the fall.
On Dexter’s official site it just says “All new episodes coming in 2008” but they don’t give a definite date. However, next-episode.net says:
Entourage starts shooting the new season in April and they hope to get the new season started September 28th.
Hope that helps!

All that I’ve found so far about Nip/Tuck is that the production on the show's eight-episode sixth season expected to start up this summer. As of now the date of the premiere is TBA.
Sorry I couldn't be of more help, but I’ll post the new dates as soon as I get them!
