RIP Dom DeLuise
May 5th 2009 19:52
The great actor-comedian/chef known for his roles in films such as Mel Brooks's "The Twelve Chairs," "Blazing Saddles," "Silent Movie," "History of the World Part I" and "Robin Hood: Men in Tights." and "Spaceballs" died in his sleep after a long ilness Monday night. DeLuise was also known for his many roles opposite friend Burt Reynolds, including "The End," "The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas," "Smokey and the Bandit II," "The Cannonball Run" and "Cannonball Run II."
Reynolds fondly recalled DeLuise in a statement issued by his publicist.
"I was thinking about this the other day," Reynolds said. "As you get older and start to lose people you love, you think about it more and I was dreading this moment. Dom always made you feel better when he was around and there will never be another like him. I never heard him say an unkind word about anyone. I will miss him very much."-From the Associated Press

Dom DeLuise was a great comedian and we'll all miss him very much. There are so many great parts he played over the years, but here are two of my favorite Dom DeLuise moments.
Feel free to talk about your favorites below. Rest in peace Dom DeLuise, and thank you for all the laughs.

Dom was a gifted comedian full of energy that popped onscreen..his work in "The End" was sublimely amusing and his Mel Brooks collaborations are arguably the pinnacle of his career.
Some other great moments were in the Muppet Movie, The Cheap Detective and the Secret of Nimh
It was cool his Stargating son seemed to get him work on everything he did from 21 Jump Street on.
Another lost original R.I.P
Dom DeLuise - "I'm actually a thin serious person but I play fat and funny, but only for the movies."

Sad news indeed. I always felt Reynolds would go first, strange how you can never tell.
He was a stalwart and will be missed by many I am sure as he supported so many in keeping their own humour alive.
How lucky for the world to have his unique brand of madness recorded in celluloid.

QUOTE ME NO QUOTES!
I adored Dom, some actors, and comedians, exude their warmth of humanity throughout their working careers, Dom was just such a person.
Much loved, he willl be sorely missed... and spare a thought for Burt, who obviously is becoming more consumed with memories and regrets at losing his dear friends.
cheer and thank you for posting this small and deserving eulogy.
