Private Practice: In Which Sam Gets Taken for a Ride

It’s crazy baby day!
Sam gets a house call to…a store? That’s right, a woman’s taken the place hostage and shot a guy in the leg and one of Sam’s patients just happen to be one of the hostages. She calls him saying it’s her leg that’s hurt and he suddenly finds himself in the middle of a holdup…and the woman with the gun is about to have a baby.
Addison and Pete have a little fun but get interrupted by Dell, who tells them it’s okay, he won’t say anything. They’re locked in “the Dell Vault”. Violet asks Cooper to become friends with benefits and he happily agrees.
Officer Kevin Nelson shows up to support the widow of a fellow officer who is about to have her baby. She doesn’t want him turning the birth of her baby into a memorial for her dead husband and Addison to tell Kevin to go back to work, that she’s okay. Suddenly half a dozen more officers show up.
Sam calls Naomi for help in delivering the convenience store robbery, Dell delivers the fastest baby ever, and Addison and Pete help the police officer’s wife, Susan, with her water delivery while the rest of the force wait outside.
The fastest baby ever’s mother was expecting a girl and when she has a forth boy she says she’s not leaving until she gets a girl. Susan has a breakdown when the death of her husband suddenly sinks in, in the middle of her labor and Addison and Pete have to try and calm her down so she doesn’t lose the baby. When Susan starts hyperventilating and asking for Jason, yelling that she can’t be alone, Addison climbs into the tub with her to show her she’s not alone while Pete delivers the baby. Meanwhile, Sam tries to talk the hostage taker into putting down the gun so she can have her baby.
Officer Nelson asks Addison out for a drink, and Cooper can’t go through with his night with Violet because, well as we all know, he’s in love with her and it definitely won’t mean nothing to him. Cooper heads over to Addison’s and finds out that Pete stood her up!
There’s a knock at Violet’s door and…it’s Pete. He tells her that when his wife died they were trying to have a baby. Looks like his patient today had more than a little effect on him.
Sam shows up bloody and tells Naomi what happened. When he tells her he’s all right, she yells, “everything is not right!” She’s sick and tired of being the only person in their practice that thinks.
In the end the only two people who weren’t getting together tonight do.
