NYCC X-plosion
April 19th 2008 03:06
(*See videos in update below)
New things we learned from the NY Comic Con:
(--The trailer was the same one from the Paley Festival.)
--DC Comics is coming out with a new line of XF comics!
--They’re aiming for a PG-13 rating for the movie.
--Still no idea if the LGM or Skinner will be in the movie. (Chris joked that Mitch will be in "that racy sex scene with Mulder and Scully" that he denies is in the movie.
--None of Scully’s family will be in the movie.
--What moment would you say defined the Mulder/Scully relationship?
CC: When he criticized her for not reaching the pedals with her tiny little feet. *everyone laughs*
FS: I'd have to say to mee it was the little gestures of support they would give each other. The looks, the touching of hands, unsaid things that were scripted, but more than that were things David and Gillian brought to the roles.
--Have Mulder and Scully been together/in contact the last six years? Again, Chris just teased, “They’ve been texting.”
--Another movie for 2012? Chris didn’t know, but since the aliens are invading anyway, what does it matter? Haha
--Chris likes fanfic
--One word to summarize what the creators hope viewers will take away from the movie? Hope.
--CC and FS were in a very happy joking mood. They even hung around for a while afterward for pictures and to shake hands with the fans. Awwww. I guess they appreciate us as much as we appreciate them! Thanks guys!!

A snippet From MTV Movies Blog interview:
(In regards to the new pic of Mulder and Scully in a church and the rumor that religion may play a huge part in the movie)
“It’s really Mulder’s faith in the paranormal that is the faith that he’s wrestling with,” the co-writer/director [Chris Carter] said. “So while you can see a church in a photograph, it doesn’t necessarily mean it’s about religion.”
And likewise, according to fellow “X-Files 2″ screenwriter Frank Spotnitz, audiences should beware of idle speculation online. “They shouldn’t believe anything because they’re going to feel burned or disappointed inevitably that day,” he argued. “So that’s really been our stance all along because there’s so much misinformation on the Internet. And people saying they have credible sources or call-sheets that are of dubious authenticity. The best thing is to view everything skeptically and wait for the movie.”

P.S. Is anyone else disappointed by the PG-13 rating or am I just a horny b*tch? Still, with the plot line they've got going, I think it'd be challenging to obtain a PG-13. One can only hope.. HOPE! Hehehe!

(PS-Your link did work, it just shows up as "really long link" for some reason...LoL Oh, and you're not alone, but I'm often surprised what they can get away with in a PG-13 movie...Like you said, HOPE!...LoL)

DD: Yes, a lot because I think there's a lot of extra gore and stuff. We're not just shooting a PG-13 version.
"and stuff"??
I'm okay with that. After the 25th theaters version we'll still have something new to look forward to.
