Yay! Finally pictures of BOTH our favorite FBI Agents back in action! Thank you USA Today! 
In the interview, Chris Carter also has some great things to say. Among them...

So what are we thinking? Mulder and Scully are definitely back in the FBI? Working with them? Or, in true Mulder and Scully fashion, they've just snuck into the building? 
I have to admit that I'm not liking Mulder with a beard. I hope it's a disguise for the very beginning or a flasback. What does everyone else think?

My view is that M&S are all scruffy and stuff because they have been in hiding for so long. We clearly know that they don't stay that way through the whole film because of the scenes where they are in front of the computer screen in, what looks like, a police department office. (The first leaked pics we all got).
My view is: we catch them in this scene for the first time, or maybe very early on in the film. Then, they find out something weird is going on in the area, decide to clean themselves up, and get back to work. Clearly, they're not going to be working with the FBI, so they will be undercover and (as it says above) "snuck into the building in true M&S style" !
I also want a few questions answering...
1) Is Skinner ok?? 2) Are M&S still being hunted? 3) An update on what M&S have been doing and who exactly they are now (for newer viewers), and 4) Are we going to get a resolution to the mythology arc at some point? (A movie released in 2012 to tie that all up would be awesome.)
Either way, this movie is long overdue, and I personally cannot wait.
I'm looking forward to seeing both my favourite TV characters back in action, along with my favourite TV & Film composer's next soundtrack release! Yes, did we all forget that the XF2 Soundtrack by the one and only Mark Snow will be on the way soon??
Thanks to CC, FS, DD and GA. And, I think I speak for ALL X-Files fans since 1993 when I say, let's all raise a glass to many more XF films!

Thanks for stopping by! We've recently learned that the first pictures we got (M&S in the office) are just staged promotional shots and not actuallyfrom the movie. Still, I agree with you that they're probably all scruffy because they're still in hiding (at least Mulder) and then later on he loses the beard.
I'd definitely like to know where Skinner is! As long as he's not dead, I'll be happy. haha I can't wait for a new Mark Snow soundtrack too!
