Moonlight: Love Lasts Forever

(MAJOR SPOILER ALERT! Don’t read if you don’t want to know exactly what happens!
)
Josh works a tough case in which an El Salvadorian HEM drug lord threatens Beth’s life if he doesn’t back down. He goes to Beth and tells her that he’s going to back off, but both she and Mick urge him to continue with the case. Mick agrees to watch out for Beth while Josh tries to get her round the clock protection.
Meanwhile, Mick is trying to decide what’s so special about Coraline’s blood. He drops it off for analysis at one of Beth’s doctor friends and they find out that there’s nothing strange about it whatsoever. When the doctor asks if the blood came from a child, Mick tells her it didn’t. She’s very surprised, seeing as how the blood was so pure. They find out that the blood in the vial is very rare AO-…the same blood type as Beth’s. Mick then tells Beth that the best type of blood for a vampire is a child’s blood of their same type. Beth wonders if that’s why Coraline kidnapped her all those years ago.
Josh storms the gang leader’s daughters’ Sweet 16 to arrest him, and in retaliation he sets his men out after Beth. Upon coming out of the BioAnalysis building, Mick starts to sense something’s not quite right. A sniper tries to shoot Beth, and if it weren’t for Mick she’d be dead. When he comes back covered in blood, they realize it was Coraline’s. The bullet hit the vial.
When he learns that Beth is still alive, the drug lord sets out after Josh. Two of his men kidnap and shove him into the trunk of the car. Beth calls Josh’s cellphone until Mick can get a trace. Mick and Beth arrive in time for Mick to take out the bad guys, but just when they think everything is alright, one of the gang members comes to. He pulls out a gun and shoots Josh through the backseat of the car!
Mick does everything he can, using the skills he learned when he was a medic in WWII, but even that doesn’t help. Josh is fading fast. The ambulance arrives, but it’s too late. Beth begs Mick to save Josh by turning him, but Mick refuses, telling her that turning Josh into a vampire wouldn’t be saving his life. Furious and heartbroken, Beth leaves, telling Mick to leave her alone.
Mick goes back to the team who was working with Josh and asks for five minutes with the gang member they caught. He sits quietly on the edge of the interrogation table, back to the prosecutors and the camera, and lets the guy see his true self. Seeing the Vampire side of Mick scares the guy half to death, and he tells Mick exactly what he wants to know.
Mick tells Carl that the man they want is at somewhere else then he himself goes to take care business. Mick gets revenge on the gang who killed Josh without telling Beth. I must say, I quite enjoyed that bar fight!
Mick then goes to see Beth, who cries and tells him that if he’d just turned Josh, her boyfriend would still be alive. Mick tells her that turning someone into a vampire is not saving their life. When she asks him if he would have done the same thing if it had been her lying there dying, he tells her he would have done the same thing. Beth cries, and Mick disappears into the night, unsure himself of what he would have done. It’s a question he’s asked himself a million times…
Can I just say, I love Mick? I was also kind of surprised that they killed Josh off so early in the series. We all knew he would somehow wind up without Beth if she and Mick were ever to get together, but wow, that was fast! Great episode though!
Quotes of the Week:
Mick: I was a medic back in WWII. Multiple gunshot wounds were common. You did the best with what you could...You find out why some people make it and others don’t...All his blood is taking its toll on Beth. It’s the sunlight that’s taking its toll on me...At the end of the day, not a lot separates life and death. That’s what makes it precious.
~*~*~
Beth: Stay with me, stay with me Josh. *to Mick* You can save him.
Mick: No, I can’t do that.
Beth: Yes you can. Turn him, he’ll live.
Mick: That’s not living.
Beth: Save him, please for me! *Mick doesn't move* Please!
Mick: He’s human Beth. Okay? This is what happens.
~*~*~
Mick: And then there’s the part in every bar scene where the bartender pulls out a shotgun. *turns, spots the shotgun, flips* Right on cue. Missed me.
~*~*~
Mick: His job killed him. You can’t blame me for him being gone. Turning someone into a vampire isn’t a saving a life, it’s taking one.
Beth: Because it’s such a curse, I know. You tell me all the time.
Mick: You don’t know! Beth, how could you know?
Beth: If you hate what you are so much, why do you go on living?
Mick: *voiceover* You make me want to. *out loud* I’m not really sure…I’m not really sure…
~*~*~
Beth: What if it were me lying there seconds before death? Would you have saved me? Would you have saved me?
Mick: *after a second* I would have done the same thing…
~*~*~
Mick: *Voiceover* She asked me something I’ve asked myself over and over again. The truth is, I don’t know what I’d do. What I do know, is that at the end of the day not a lot separates life from death. Only one thing: Eternity.

Great to find another Moonlight fan! I really love this show too, I try very hard not to read spoilers but I just can't seem to help it. But knowing what's going to happen sometimes just makes it that much better to watch. haha
Thanks for stopping by!
