Lost: The Little Prince Recap

March 5th 2009 01:59
On Penny’s search boat, Kate asks Jack what they’re going to do about Aaron. Jack doesn’ t know, and Kate tells him that Claire was flying to LA to give him up for adoption. She’s been thinking a lot about it, and has decided she going to say that he’s hers. Jack tells her that there are other ways to do this, but Kate just answers that after everyone they’ve lost, she can’t lose Aaron too. She names many of the people they’ve lost, including Sawyer, and Jack reminds her that “Sawyer’s not dead.”

“No,” she answers. “But he’s gone.”

She tells Jack goodnight, and he tells her that if they’re going to keep everyone they left behind safe, “tomorrow morning I’m gonna have to convince everyone to lie. If it’s must me, they’re never gonna go for it. So I’m gonna turn to you first…Are you with me?”

She walks back to him to answer, “I have always been with you.”

~*~*~

3 Years later, off The Island:

~*~*~

Juliet, Daniel, are all still hovering over the unconscious Charlotte lying on the floor. Sawyer and Locke stand nearby, and Locke tells him that they have to get back to The Orchid. He wants to go find the Zodiac raft back at the beach to get there faster. He’s not really sure what to do once they get there, but he believes Ben used it to leave the Island, and if he can do it to, he can save them.

Sawyer gives him a skeptical look, asking, “And how you gonna do that?”

“This is all happening because they left. I think it’ll stop if I can bring them back.”

“Bring who back?”

“Jack,” Locke answers. “Sun, Sayid, Hugo, Kate.”

“The boat blew up and that chopper was probably on it,” Sawyer argues, and Locke jut tells him that “They’re not dead, James.”

“Says who?”

Locke waves it off. “It doesn’t matter. All that matters is they’ve come back. I have to make them come back. Even if it kills me.” Sawyer doesn’t answer right away, and Locke adds, “Don’t you want them to come back, James? Don’t you want *her* to come back?”

Sawyer stares at him a moment then curtly answers, “It doesn’t matter what I want.”

“Hey!” Miles calls out, pointing to Charlotte. “She’s wakin’ up!”

They walk over to see what’s going on, and Charlotte doesn’t recognize Daniel. “Who are you?” He tells her, she thinks a moment, then remembers, smiling. “Daniel…” She sits up, asking what happened, and Daniel tells her that she passed out after the last flash.

Daniel: How do you feel?

Charlotte: A bit dizzy, but I’m fine.

Daniel: Good.

Miles: Hurray, everything’s back to normal. Now what?

“I’ll tell you now what,” Sawyer answers, swinging his gun back onto his shoulder. “We’re going to The Orchid.” He starts walking before anyone can stop him.

Locke heads after him.

~*~*~

It’s night and they’re still walking through the jungle. Sawyer catches up to Locke and asks him what he’s going to say to Kate to get her to come back. Locke tells him he hasn’t figured that out yet, and Sawyer reminds him that she was pretty excited to get on that helicopter.

Suddenly they spot a beam of light shooting up through the trees. Miles asks what it is, and Locke just answers, “Whatever it is we better stay clear of it.” He starts to walk in the opposite direction, and Sawyer reminds him that “the beach is this way.” When Locke doesn’t move, he adds, “Now you want to take the scenic route?”

“John,” Daniel asks, realizing something. “Do you know when we are?”

Locke sidesteps the question by glancing at the light and answering, “We need to keep moving.”

They continue to walk through the dark woods, and Daniel asks Charlotte how her headache is.

“Better,” she answers, pushing some branches out of the way. “Nothing like sore feet to take your mind off your head, eh?”

“Well don’t worry, once we get to the beach we’re gonna take The Zodiac around to the other side of The Island and you can rest.”

“That’s sweet,” she answers, “but you don’t need to baby me, I’m fine.”

Meanwhile, Juliet notices Miles wiping at his bloody nose. “You okay?”

“I’m peachy.”

Suddenly a scream pierces the night. More screams. Sawyer grabs his gun, tells everybody not to move, and goes to check it out. As he approaches the noise, he finds Kate helping Claire give birth to Aaron in the jungle.

Seeing Kate again has a big effect on Sawyer, but the moment is interrupted by another
FLAAAAAASH!

It’s day. Kate and Claire are gone.

Locke comes up to ask what happened. “Did you see something out here, James?”

Sawyer glances back to the spot Kate used to be, shoves aside his emotions, and answers, “Ah it don’t matter. It’s gone now.” He walks around Locke and goes back to everyone else.

~*~*~

“Hey,” Locke catches up to Sawyer this time. “You ready to tell me who you saw back there?”

“I already told you, it’s nothing.”

“You and I both know when we were before the flash, James,” Locke says, keeping pace with him. “So who was it you saw? Charlie?”

“How is it YOU knew when we were Johhny Boy?” Sawyers asks, once again avoiding answering. “That light in the sky, it was from The Hatch, wasn’t it?”

Locke glances back to make sure no one is listening, then tells him, “The night that Boone died, I went out there and started pounding on it as hard as I could. I was…confused, scared, babbling like an idiot, asking why was all this happening to me?”

“Did you get an answer?”

“Light came on, shot up into the sky. At the time I thought it meant something.”

“Did it?”

“No, it was just a light.”

Sawyer asks him why he turned them around, wouldn’t he want to go back there and tell himself to do things differently? “Save yourself a world of pain.”

“No,” Locke answers, stopping. “I needed that pain. Get to where I am now.” He starts walking again.

“Hey,” Miles catches up to Daniel. “I just got a nosebleed.”

“What?” Daniel asks, alarmed. “When?”

“Let’s just not freak out the others okay?” Miles answers as he keeps walking, and adds, “Just tell me, why?” He gestures to Charlotte. “Why her? Why me?”

“I don’t know. I think it might have something to do with duration of exposure, you know, the amount of time you’ve spent on The Island.”

“It doesn’t make any sense,” Miles answers. “Those yahoos have been here for months. I’ve never been here before two weeks ago.”

Daniel looks at him. “Are you sure about that?”

Before either of them can say anything else, they reach the beach to find the camp back.

“Hello?” Sawyer calls out.

“The camp’s back,” Juliet says, looking around at it.

“Finally!” Sawyer answers, relieved. “Anybody for a Dharma beer?” They continue into the camp, and Sawyer calls out for Rose or Bernard, anybody. It doesn’t take long to find out that nobody’s been there for a while.

Sawyer tosses aside empty beer cans and Locke picks up a looped rope.

“What is it?” Juliet asks.

“It’s Vincent’s.”

“Yeah, but where’s the rest of the dog?” Sawyer asks. “Where’s the rest of our people?”

Daniel notices that The Zodiac is gone too, and Juliet wonders if maybe their people took it. Sawyer wonders why they’d aver do that and Miles answers, “Maybe to get away from whoever came in those.” He points to more long boats sitting on the beach.

They all go over to inspect the old-looking boats. They have no idea where the boats came from, but they do find an “Ajira” water bottle inside. Juliet explains that Ajira Airways is an airline based out of India. “But they fly everywhere.”

“Great,” Sawyer answers dryly. “Maybe they’ve got a flight out of here to Vegas tonight.” He tosses the pretty full water bottle back into the boat, asking Juliet, “Who came in these? Other Others?”

Juliet doesn’t know, she’s never seen the boats before. “Don’t look at me.”

“My question is, when are they coming back?” Daniel asks.

“Let’s not wait to find out,” Locke decides, and they all help shove the boat into the water.

~*~*~

Everyone rows hard, and Miles decides, “This plan sounded a hell of a lot better when we were going by motorboat.” To Locke in the front, he shouts, “How far is this place?”

“Around that point,” Locke shouts back, pointing. “Not more than a couple of hours.”

“Oh joy.”

They continue to row. Behind Miles, Juliet glances back at Sawyer who is at the back of the boat. She asks if he’s okay, and he tells her that he saw Kate.

“What?”

“Last night, in the jungle. Before the last flash. Delivering Claire’s baby.”

“That was two months ago.”

Oh the joys of time travel. Not. Suddenly shots ring out, splashing the water near them. Everyone glances behind them, surprised to see a boat. On which are people who are now shooting at them.

“Paddle!” Sawyer shouts, probably not so happy to be at the back of the boat now.

Everyone paddles like crazy as Miles shouts, “I think they want their boat back!”

“Row!” Locke shouts as more shots ring out. Sawyer glances back nervously as Miles asks Juliet, “Are these your people?”

“No,” she shouts back. “Are they yours?”

“Shut up and keep paddling!” Sawyer interrupts. The shots are getting closer, and Sawyer nods to Juliet’s gun. “A little help!” She hands him her oar and shoots back. They’re still coming.

“Paddle harder!” Sawyer shouts. “They’re getting closer!”

As everyone desperately paddles, suddenly a familiar ring starts to build. “Thank you Lord!” Sawyer yells as the sky lights up and…

FLLAAAAASH!

They’re now in the middle of a thunderstorm. At night.

“I take that back!” Sawyer shouts up angrily at the sky.

Locke tells everyone to paddle and head for the shore. The rain is coming down hard. Lightning flashes around them and they’re getting soaked, but everyone paddles for the shore.

~*~*~

They finally make it to the shore, and exhaustedly shove the boat onto the sand.

“Okay!” Locke calls out, telling them to stop, they’ve made it.

“Remind me never to do that again,” Miles says, grasping the edge of the boat and trying to catch his breath. Everyone else is just as beat. They wearily look around the dark beach, wondering where they are. They won’t really know until it gets light out again.

With no other choice but to wait, everyone sits down to catch their breath and regain some strength. Resting against the side of the boat next to Sawyer, Juliet tells him “We never got a chance to finish our conversation.”

“What conversation was that?”

“The one before they started shooting at us. Where you were about to tell me how it felt to see Kate again.”

“I wasn’t about to tell you anything,” he answers, and she just says, “Why don’t you tell me now?”

After a long moment, Sawyer finally gives in. “I was close enough to touch her…if I wanted to I could have…stepped right up and talked to her.”

“Why didn’t you?”

“What’s done is done.” He stares at her a moment, his expression changing. “Juliet…”

“What’s wrong?” Her nose is bleeding. She too is now suffering the effects of the flashes.

Suddenly Charlotte calls out for them to come look at something. Everybody gets up and goes over to see the remains of a wreck. “Looks like it just happened.”

Locke turns over a can with the word “Besixdouze” and asks, “Anybody speak French?”

~*~*

Out on the water, another group of people are stranded on a raft. They speak rapid French to each other as the rain pours down around them. Suddenly one of the women notices a body floating in the water. They point their flashlight at it and row over.

They call out to the man, but he doesn’t answer. He’s floating on another piece of wreckage. They all pull him into the raft and roll him over.

It’s Jin!

~*~*~

Jin wakes up to find The French group taking things out of their raft. It’s daytime now. One of the men starts picking up a radio signal. It’s familiar numbers. A French woman comes over to see if he’s okay, but Jin just answers, “No, understand.”

“You speak English?”

“A little.”

“Are you okay?”

A little warn from being blown up and drifting in the ocean, Jin nevertheless answers, “Yes.”

“How did you get here?”

The rest of her group notice Jin is awake and come over to hear what he has to say.

“Boat,” Jin answers.

They speak French to each other, then one of the men asks, “What boat?”

“It’s gone,” Jin answers, wearily. “I think.”

“He must have been caught in the same storm as us.”

“Who are you?” one of the men demands, looming over Jin. “How long you were in the water?”

Jin squint sup at him. “I don’t know.”

“How do you not know how you wind you wind up in the middle of the ocean, uh?”

The French woman chastises him, and he backs off. She stands up, shoving off her rain poncho and revealing her pregnant stomach. One of the nicer men hands her a canteen and she opens it and gives it to Jin, who takes a long drink then hands it back. “Thank you.”

She smiles at him. “What is your name?”

“Jin.”

“Hello Jin. I’m Danielle. Danielle Rousseau.”

This catches his attention. Jin can only stare at the young Rousseau. Seems he too has been traveling through time.

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX XXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Jin's alive! YAY!!! I'm so glad he didn't die in that explosion. Seems I wasn't holding out hope for nothing! Loved the boat part. LoL And ever since I saw the episode that showed the Dharma Initiative Dr. *insert pseudonym here* had a son, I thought, "hmm...I wonder if it's Miles?" You think? I don't know. As always, great episode!
