It's T-shirt time!
July 3rd 2008 21:07
Okay, this all started with two things. 1. The quickly approaching date of The X-files: I Want To Believe (21 days!!) and 2. This conversation in the comments. As you can see, we need t-shirts to properly commemorate what we X-philes have been waiting for for six years (which actually feels like FOREVER! Doesn’t it? Anyone? LoL)
And so, Amy, Paula, and I have decided it’s time to stop just talking about it. Let’s do this! Any other X-philes are welcome to join in on the fun! Just be sure to let us know if you’re interested so we don’t leave you out.
“It’s (almost) HERE!!!”

was just thinking about the comment for the t-shirt..... Does it have to me funny comment? Because I just remembered Mulder's "Never give up on the miracle" and hmmm waiting 6 years for the movie and finally getting it, feels a little like miracle.....

Okay, so we've basically got the whole design then right? Mulder and Scully with "I believe" on front and us with "Never give up on the miracle" on back? (Or Amy did you want to use that on front instead and "I believe" on back?

Paula, when you read this, since I'm technically host of this little par-tay, I'll be polite and let you decide if you want to be Byers or Langly. hehe

I figured out the t-shirt thing, and it looks pretty dang good if you ask me. I'm suggesting that we all make our own shirts so we can save money and time. Here's what I did to make mine:
1. Go to Michael's or another arts and crafts store, and buy some iron-on transferable paper. It runs around $10-$15. Doesn't really matter what quality, but make sure it's iron-on unless you're in the mood for some sewing. Also, buy a black t-shirt in your size. I bought a fitted tee because I personally think they're cuter than the regular beefy tee.
2. Go to www.wiltoneasyimage.com and click on "Launch EasyImage" on the left-hand side. Log on using my account:
username: aasman
password: bobby1
(it's my cat's name, sorry for the lack of creativity)
Then click on the "my saved designs" decal on the left-hand side. I have two designs here, one with words and one with just the picture. You can print out the one I made or make your own rendition.
3. Printing is probably the hardest part. I would suggest starting with regular paper first to make sure you get it right. I took a red pen and drew an X on one side to see which side it printed out on. It should depend on each individual printer (remember it should be a color printer). You might have to load the paper in sideways using the feeder.
4. Once it's printed out, use scissors or a paper cutter to trim the designer how you like it.
5. Iron it on the shirt!! At this point, take out the directions that came with your iron-on transferable paper. Follow the directions carefully. Ex: mine says not to use steam or an ironing board, and to iron the shirt beforehand to get all the wrinkles out. ALSO-- you might want to wash your shirt before you iron anything on to prevent shrinkage. I'm going to iron mine on tonight. I'll let you know how it goes.
6. If we still want to do something on the back, we can design it and add on later!
Well, that's about it!! Please let me know how it goes and let me know if you have any questions or problems. 7 days left!!! WHOOOHOOO!!
<3,
Amy
