House - Euphoria part two
September 13th 2006 03:59
I did warn you about my House fixation, didn’t I?
Tonight is the conclusion of the gripping two-parter episode "Euphoria", which diverts from the show’s classic formula when the team are faced with the loss of one of their own. Personally I think the dramatic energy of the episodes would have benefited from being shown back to back, but naturally Channel 10 prefer to drag them out.
Omar Epps acts the hell out of this episode. You saw last week, right? He stabbed Cameron. It’s hard to muster sympathy for a guy after he does something like that, but his condition rapidly deteriorates, and the pain he is forced to endure is truly heartbreaking to watch, resulting in some extraordinary scenes with several members of the cast, especially House (Hugh Laurie), Cuddy (Lisa Edelstein) and Cameron (Jennifer Morrison).
House’s caution in treating Foreman’s case is starting to concern his fellow staff, and he soon encounters serious opposition in the unlikely form of Cameron. It’s always a treat to see House and Cameron go head to head, and the sizzling sexual tension between them certainly helps. We see a rare side of Cameron in this episode, and some serious developments occur amongst the team that should change their dynamic forever… should Foreman survive to see them happen.
Next week Channel 10 are showing the emotionally gripping episode "Forever", before delving into yet another slew of repeats. God willing, at some point Aussie audiences will finally get to see the two final episodes of the season, "Who’s Your Daddy" and "No Reason", which carry some massive shocks for everyone.
