Last Season for Heroes?

Seems some people think so. Rumors are flying that this may be the end for our favorite TV heroes. It's no secret that the show has slipped since it's very good first season, but I wouldn't call it terrible. I mean, I'm still watching, right? It does, however, seem that most of the cast and crew are preparing for the end.


(ANOTHER) SPOILER ALERT

According to The Ausiello Files over at EW:

The fans have spoken. One day after you voted by an overwhelming majority that you'd like Sendhil Ramamurthy to be the next star killed off of Heroes, NBC announced he's been cast in a new pilot called Rex Is Not Your Lawyer. So this means his character Mohinder is going to die, right? Well... maybe. There might be a much bigger death in the works: the series. A well-placed Heroes source tells me of Sendhil's casting: "Everyone is expecting this to be the last season. The cast, the crew, everyone." Which would explain why Sendhil has been cast in an NBC pilot. Clearly, the Peacock peeps wouldn't place Sendhil (who is pretty funny in real life, by the way, and who should do well on a dramedy) on a new series if they expected a conflict ahead. A rep for NBC tells us: "Rex is just a pilot right now, so Sendhil is still on Heroes. Rex is in second position to Heroes."

Heroes: Cold Snap

It’s a Rebel-centered episode. Noah wants Danko to let Tracy to find Rebel, Hiro and Ando are watching over Matt’s baby because Rebel told them to. Angela is saved from Danko by Peter, and Matt and Mohinder rush Daphne to the hospital.

Reveals: Rebel is actually…Micah!

Deaths: Daphne and Tracy





Matt: A penny for your thoughts.

Daphne: Since when did you start paying people for their thoughts?

Hiro: *in Japanese* Heroes change the world. Not diapers.

~*~*~

Ando: People like us are being arrested.

Janice: By who? The government?

Hiro: Yes. They're rounding us up. And they're coming for little Matt. We were sent to help.

Janice: The government is coming for my son? He's just a baby. He's no threat.

~*~*~

Micah: I thought that because you looked like my mom, that I knew you.

Tracy: If I met you earlier in my political career, maybe I'd be more like my bio. But I'm not that person. I'm not your mom.

Micah: I know. You're nothing like her. My mom, who was the everyday American, was a hero. You're just a politician.

Tracy: And who are you? Che Guevara?

Micah: Che Guevara led a revolution. This is a rebellion. So whose side are you on? And "mine" is not an answer.

Daphne: I didn't know you could fly.

Matt: I didn't know you could run on water.

~*~*~

Daphne: You convinced them I was Gwen Stefani?

Matt: Uh... yeah. Got you a good room, didn't it?

Angela: Hello, Millie.

Millie: You look like you've been mugged and the first thing they stole was your dignity.

Tracy: So we just walk out the front door?

Matt: Yeah. Aren't you glad you waited for us?

~*~*~

Noah: How did you catch him?

Danko: I'm smarter than the average bear.

~*~*~

Angela: This should be our last conversation. It's not safe for you to be seen with me.

Noah: I'm touched. Or I would be if I could imagine that you really care about my safety.

Angela: What I care about is having an awful lot depending on a man too distracted to pack an umbrella on a cloudy day. Or use a proper razor.

~*~*~

Daphne: You really would do anything for me, wouldn't you?

Matt: Just say the word.

Daphne: Then let me go.

Matt: …What?

Daphne: We're still in the hospital, aren't we? And this is all you in my head, trying to give me a storybook ending.

Matt: I'm sorry.

Daphne: Don't be. I'm not. But, Matt, you deserve the real thing. Not a fantasy.

Matt: I just wanted to make you happy.

Daphne: You did... Do one more thing for me?

Matt: *close to tears* Anything.

Daphne: Fly me to the moon.

Heroes: Shades of Gray

Matt has to deal with being set up as a terrorist with a bomb strapped to his chest, Claire has to decide whether or not to help The Puppetmaster, and Sylar finally finds his father. Meanwhile, Danko is starting to suspect there’s something Nathan’s not telling him.





Mohinder: (VO) Generations unfold. Father to son. Mother to daughter. Where one leaves off, the other follows, destined to repeat each other's mistakes, each other's triumphs. But how do we see the world if not through their lens? The same fears, same desires. Do we see them as an example to follow? Or as a warning of what to avoid? Choosing to live as they have, simply because it's what we know, or driven to create our own identity? And what happens if we find them to be a disappointment? Can we replace them, our mothers, our fathers? Or will destiny find a way to drive us back, back to the familiar comforts of home.

Danko: I'm sure you'd have grown close to the Petrelli family.

Noah: The Petrellis were never exactly a warm and fuzzy bunch.

Samson: I guess the apple didn't fall too far from the tree.

Sylar: I'm not your apple. You don't know anything about me.

Samson: I have some idea. You and I can't be all that different.

Sylar: From where I stand, we have exactly nothing in common.

Sylar: This is pitiful.

Samson: What's that?

Sylar: What you've become. You used to be a killer. Now look at you. You're pathetic.

Samson: Oh. You want a fight? That what you were expecting? Son kills his father, epic battle, huh? That's a myth. No. Life... life never gives you what you want.

Claire: I have a free pass for a reason. I should be using it to help people. Rebel seems to think so.

Sandra: Yes, well, this "Rebel", whoever he is, can't send psychopaths to our front doorstep. I don't think I can take any more surprise guests.

Nathan: I thought Parkman was in your custody?

Danko: He was, last time I checked.

Nathan: What the hell is he doing in front of the Capitol building with a bomb strapped to his chest?

Eric Doyle: But if there were agents outside... why aren't they kicking in the door, looking to collect a comes-back-to-life Barbie?

~*~*~

Danko: I want to know everything you know about Nathan Petrelli.

Tracy: He was lousy in bed.

~*~*~

Sylar: I guess not everybody gets old. Not everybody dies.

Samson: Then you just have that much longer to suffer, don't ya?

Angela: Genetics is a very complicated subject.

Heroes: Exposed

Determined to find Daphne, Matt and Peter are contacted by someone named “Rebel”. Claire tries to help another young hero, Danko is out to find all the heroes, and Sylar searches for his real dad. Matt gets caught and sees his future painting of him blowing up Washington about to come true.





Matt: What are you doing?

Peter: Copying the files.

Matt: What for?

Peter: To expose them. Look, American citizens rounded up like this, no warrants, no trials. This is gonna look great on the evening news. Nathan's not gonna know what hit him. And we'll use this as leverage. Daphne's not here, Matt. There's no guarantee that we're gonna find her. But if we have this...

Matt: We can make a deal. Everything we've got in exchange for Daphne.

Peter: One life at a time.

~*~*~

Alex: I still don't know why you're doing all this for me.

Claire: Well, we're an endangered species, I'm just... doing my best to try to save us.

~*~*~

Sandra: How'd you do on your history exam?

Lyle: C-.

Sandra: Right. You're grounded. Driver's license, please. Now. (Lyle hands it over)Thank you.

Alex: That was harsh.

Sandra: He's a terrible driver, anyway.

~*~*~

Luke: Why are you doing this to me?

Sylar: Because you're here and I need to express my feelings. You used me for some joyride and escape. I got news for you, kid. There is no escape. There is only pain and you can not outrun it. No matter what you do. No matter where you go.

Nathan: Pete!

Angela: No, Nathan. Don't.

Nathan: You give me one good reason why I shouldn't go after him, right now.

Angela: Because the game has changed. I've seen it. And you need to be ready.

Noah: I wouldn't go out there if I were you.

Danko: You're not me.

~*~*~

Luke: All clear. Officially off the grid. No communications within 50 miles.

Sylar: You sound disappointed.

Luke: Maybe I am. I mean, the way I see it, agents catch up with us we just... charbroil them from the inside out.

~*~*~

Claire: I have a plan. I just haven't thought of it yet.

~*~*~

Claire: I cannot believe you know how to make a fake ID. Where did you learn that? Dad?

Sandra: No. Claire, believe it or not, I was a teenager once, and an enterprising one, not unlike you, young lady. There was this band once I just had to see. Def Leppard. Oh, my God. Rick Savage. Bass player. So cute. Oh, what I would have given to...

Claire: Mom!

Sandra: Sorry.

Alex: So... how do I look?

Claire: Like an exceptionally cute boy who can breathe underwater.

~*~*~

Sandra: You gonna miss having a cute guy in your closet?

Claire: A little.

From the more innocent days of the Andy Griffith and Dick Van Dyke shows, to today’s Homer Simpson and Tony Soprano, dads have graced our silver screen, braving the world in all their wonderful protective, heroic, bumbling, man-child greatness. Today’s TV dad is far from perfect. They’re beautifully flawed, and that’s why we love them
