Grey’s Anatomy: Dream a Little Dream of Me (Part II)
April 25th 2009 00:31
As Cristina lies there, she suddenly flashes to her and Meredith as little old ladies. Meredith pulls a chicken out of the microwave as Cristina eats some cereal. They argue about the proper way to cut the chicken. Meredith needs her glasses to do it, where are they? Cristina gets up and shows her they’re around her neck. She puts on her rubber gloves.
Meredith: What would I do without you?
Cristina: Starve.
Cristina wakes up to Major Hunt hovering over her. “A damsel in distress.” He picks her up and takes her inside.
Cristina begs Meredith not to tell The Chief just before The Chief come in. Cristina diagnosis herself—take the icicle out! Meredith and Hunt both think they should leave it in, The Chief tells them to leave it in and tells Cristina to take the opportunity to show her interns how this type of injury is dealt with. He hands Cristina’s patient over to Meredith and asks to talk to Major Hunt outside.

Izzie asks Derek if she thinks she’ll be able to restore Betty’s memory. He doesn’t know for sure, but he’s hopeful. He asks Rose for a 15-blade and, still mad at him, Rose shoves it at him, slicing his hand open. Blood seeps through his rubber glove and Rose suddenly realizes what she’s done.
Izzie asks what’s wrong and Derek turns to Rose. “Dr. Hahn asked me about teaching before, here’s a tip: When you hand a surgeon a 15-blade, make sure it’s handle first.” He tells Izzie to keep suctioning the blood while he goes to get another glove…
~*~*~
Michael’s still won’t be able to talk. His wife asks him about the insurance. Everything’s going to be fine right? Michael hesitates, and Lexie says maybe later…Anna takes her out.
~*~*~
Derek walks in to find Bailey, The Chief, and Major Hunt in his patient’s room. “What’s going on?” The Chief tells him that they’re going to go ahead with the freezing.
“Without my consent? No I don’t think so.”
Hunt butts in, “You really want to be the doctor who doesn’t give his all to keep a man from being wheelchair bound for the rest of his life?”
“Get out of my patient’s room!”
“I don’t take orders from civilians—”
“Listen you arrogant—” The Chief steps in, cutting him off, and Derek tells him that right now his patient is stable, he may never walk again, but if they go ahead with this and he throws a clot, he could die.
“We’re going ahead with the freezing,” The Chief tells him.
Derek tells him that ever since the rankings came in he’s been trying to prove that he’s not number 12. “And you’re not. But right now, with this decision? You act like number 12.” Derek wishes Callie good luck with the patient and leaves.
~*~*~
Derek and Sloan set their charts down and Derek tells him, “The Chief is under the spell of some insane man in camouflage.”
Sloan tells him he saved his patient’s life, what happened to his hand? Rose. Mark tells him that Rose is a “dead mouse on the kitchen floor. At some point you’ve got to pick it up and throw it away.” He offers to look at Derek’s hand, but he tells him Meredith’s going to look at it.
~*~*~
Cristina’s interns are trying to get her into place, but it’s not going well. One of the girls lowers the X-ray machine, “Is this right?”
Cristina glares at her. “If I’m getting a mammogram. Lower. To the right.” She looks at another intern. “What are you doing?”
“D-draping, so your parts are safe.”
“Get away from my parts.”
Meredith enters to see how she’s doing, and Cristina asks her to take her film because “My interns are idiots!” She asks about the patient she’s supposed to be keeping an eye on and Meredith tells her that he’s stable for now. She gets ready to take Cristina’s X-rays, then tells her to “hold still because I want to ask you a question.”
Cristina gives her a crazy look. “what?”
“Did you mean what you said about me and Derek?”
“Well this is not fair, I’m impaled!”
Meredith tells her that she knows she’s gone all soft and gooey and talks about it too much, but “you said what you said because you were mad, right? Not because you meant it?”
Cristina sighs. “Just take my x-ray, it doesn’t matter what I say.”
“Of course it matters what you say!” Meredith yells at her. “Of course it matters.” She waits for an answer. Cristina just stares at her.
Meredith leaves.
Cristina closes her eyes then suddenly hears three camera snapping sounds. She looks towards the end of the bed to find all three of her interns with their phones out snapping pictures of her impaled with an icicle.
“You stop-argh! Stop taking my picture and take my picture!” They rush to obey.
~*~*~
Meredith finds Anna upset in the waiting room and asks her if she’s okay.
“Her world’s about to fall apart and she has no idea,” Anna says of Sarah-Beth. Meredith offers that regardless of how ugly it is, it’s better for her to tell the truth. She is Sarah-Beth’s best friend after all.
~*~*~
Izzie finds Alex to ask if he wants to go watch Callie freeze her patient, but he just ignores her.
“Hello? Alex? Why are you ignoring me?”
“I’m hoping that if I wait long enough, you’ll be as annoyed by the sound of your voice as I am and just shut up.”
Izzie stares at him a moment, then sighs and asks, “Okay, did I do something?”
“You know what you did,” Alex answers gruffly, turning back to the computer.
“No, I don’t. Alex, just tell me, what did I do? I thought that I—”
“Just shut up,” he interrupts indifferently. “I had a bad night and I cried like a girl, I’m over it. You need to get over it too.”
Letting out a frustrated breath, Izzie leaves, the door slamming shut behind her.
~*~*~
Callie, The Chief, and Bailey are prepping the patient. She assure him that the chill he’ll feel is just the saline rushing through his body trying to lower his body temperature.
“And if it works?” he asks, looking up from the bed as Bailey adds more cold packs.
“If it works, the hope is that you walk.”
“Oh wow, okay. I’m getting cold.”
Callie asks The Chief if they should put another cooling blanket on him, and he tells her that it’s her decision since she’s taking point on this. “That’s what the Chief of a number one teaching hospital does,” he adds. “He hand-picks talented surgeons and lets them take point, right Dr. Bailey?”
“Couldn’t agree more, Chief.”
Shivering, the patient says “warm and toasty”. As his temperature continues to drop, Callie assures them all that it’s normal. They tell him to keep thinking “warm and toasty” and it’ll all be over soon.
~*~*~
Meredith tends to Derek’s hand, and he asks her if she wants to know how he hurt it, assuring her that “it’s a good story.”
“I am not sure moving in together is a good idea,” She answers.
That’s fine with him. He tells her that he knows her, therefore he’s taking baby steps here. “No sudden moves. You’re like a deer in the woods.”
“Okay, I built the House of Candles,” she counters. “That is unprecedented in the Meredith Chronicles.”
“Fine, let’s move in together.”
“Fine.”
“Unless, of course, you just want to go ahead and get married.”
Meredith’s teasing is suddenly gone as she looks up at him with the deer in the headlights panicked look.
“Ah-ha! Gotcha,” he answers with a smile. “You want to know where I learned that? It goes with the story of how I hurt my hand.”
Before he can tell her about it, Izzie joins them, asking Meredith what she said to Alex.
“I-I didn’t say anything, I just said that I…think it’s…nice,” Meredith answers, struggling for the right words. “That you two are friendly again.”
Frustrated, Izzie tells her that she never should have told her anything in the first place because she “can’t keep anything to yourself unless it’s for Cristina!” With that, Izzie stomps off.
“Izzie!” Sighing Meredith turns back to Derek.
“Marriage?”
“Not funny.”
~*~*~
Alex comes to get Bailey because he thinks they should skip the CT on Michael, since if they start the surgery after midnight, he’s not covered by his insurance. Bailey tells him that they don’t skip on medicine to save money. She tells him to get the CT.
Meanwhile, Callie’s patient drops below 90 degrees, and she starts to second guess herself. “I think that’s, um, too low.” She looks to the Chief for help. “Is that too low?“
“You did all the research.”
“I think it’s too low.”
The patient’s monitor starts to beep, and when Bailey asks what to do next, Callie just stands there. The Chief announces that the patient barely has a pulse, and when Bailey asks Callie what to do, she asks, “Should we do CPR?”
“No,” Bailey answers. “Let’s try to avoid jostling Shepherd’s spinal decompression unless absolutely necessary.”
Callie’s breathing increases as she stares down at the patient. “Oh crap.” She’s starting to panic.
“His heart is likely to stop,” The Chief tells her. “Soon! What are you gonna do Dr. Torres?”
“I don’t know,” Callie whispers, glancing frantically at them all. “I don’t know.”
~*~*~
Anna and Sarah-Beth visit Vincent, and when they see how bad everything is going for them all, Anna sits down, takes her friend’s hand, and confesses to Sarah-Beth that Michael lost his job eight months ago. “He just couldn’t bring himself to tell you,” she says. “He felt like such a failure.”
Meredith continues to tend to Vincent, listening in as Sarah-Beth asks her friend how she knows this. When Anna doesn’t answer, she realizes, “He told you.” Her hand slips out from under her friend’s as the realization hits her. “He told you.” When she asks if she’s been sleeping with her husband, the monitor suddenly starts beeping. Meredith calls a code blue before Anna can answer.
~*~*~
Dr. Hahn comes in, appalled at what Callie’s done to her patient. “You’re taking out all his blood and replacing it?” The Chief tells her it was the only thing to do, that it’ll give his heart a rest, asking her, “Now are you in or not?”
~*~*~
Sarah-Beth sits pensively in the waiting room. Alex comes out to tell her that he was hoping that they could get Michael into surgery before midnight, but it doesn’t look like that’s going to happen.
“It doesn’t matter, I don’t care,” Sarah-Beth answers. She asks him about Betty’s husband. “I think he was dying, do-have you heard anything?”
“No, I can find out.”
Alex starts to leave, but Sarah-Beth suddenly asks, “Why do men cheat?” Alex stops, and she continues, “My husband slept with my friend. He lost his job and then he slept with my friend, all the while telling me he loves me. Why?”
“Maybe he was, low,” Alex answers. “He was down and he didn’t want you to see him like that, in pain, weak, in other words, less than a man. He has his pride so he turned away. It’s not right, but it doesn’t mean he doesn’t care about you. I swear it doesn’t.”
Alex leaves and Sarah-Beth sits in silence as the snow continues to fall outside the window.
~*~*~
The Chief, Bailey, Hahn, and Callie are all getting ready to try again on Callie’s patient. When he becomes tachycardic, Bailey asks if they should shock him, and Dr. Hahn dryly answers, “Well normally I would say yes, but this man is an ice cube.” The Chief asks Callie if there was anything in her research to suggest what to do in this situation.
Callie fumbles for an answer, finally going with, “I-I think I messed up here. I-I-I don’t know, I mean maybe, maybe, he’d do fine on his own, maybe, maybe—”
“Alright, look at me,” Hahn interrupts. “Focus. You’re trying something new, there’s nothing wrong with new. Breaking new ground, pushing new boundaries, it comes with the job, so, Dr. Torres, take a breath, stop panicking, and just tell us. What did your research say?”
Callie takes in a breath, then finally tells them that her research showed that arrhythmias can occur at a certain threshold. “His appear to be between…91.5 and 92 degrees,” she finally says, back to her calm doctor self. They decide that they need to warm him up, but not too quickly.
“Alright, looks like we have some warming to do,” Hahn says, glancing at The Chief. Was that a good teacher?

Still with the icicle in her side and getting sick and tired of it, Cristina asks her interns what they see in her x-rays.
“Um, it kinda looks like it’s hitting nothing.”
“Oh, it looks like it’s hitting nothing?” she asks mockingly, turning to growl, “Because it’s hitting nothing!” at them.
“So like, what does that—what does that mean?”
“What do you mean, ‘what dose that mean’? Don’t you know how to read an x-ray?”
The interns look at each other fearfully, then finally one of them answers, “Y-you always read them.”
“Oh get out, all of you get out and find me someone with a brain.”
They leave and Hunt walks in, snapping on some gloves. “Those your interns? They seem pretty scared of you.”
“I am not scary!”
Hunt glances at the x-rays, then suddenly leans very close to her.
“What are you doing?”
Without a word, Hunt rips the icicle from her side. Cristina gasps, then stares at him in shock. “That’s my icicle. I—You took out my icicle.” He simply nods, and she’s quickly back to herself, telling him, “I didn’t give you permission to do that.”
“So?”
Meredith suddenly enters, solemnly. “Cristina…”
Cristina looks up, knowing right away why she’s there. “He died.”
~*~*~
The Chief and Derek look at Callie’s patient.
“Patient’s still alive.”
“He’s stable,” The Chief answers.
“You let some soldier off the street talk you into something that could have killed a man,” Derek says angrily.
“He deserved a chance.”
“You have no way of knowing if it helped or hurt.”
“He deserved a chance, Derek,” The Chief answers of the patient. “He deserved the best. The most that this hospital could give him.” Watching the patient through his room window, he adds, “I’ve let a lot of things slide over the past few years…I’ve been…soft.”
“It’s not about you being soft.”
The Chief tells him he thinks it’s the fact that Meredith is there just before she walks in. Meredith tells him that despite everything they could do, they couldn’t bring Vincent back. The Chief thinks a moment, then shakes his head. “You don’t know how to do anything. None of you,” he says angrily. “You’re halfway through your second year of residency, and you walk around this hospital like it’s your God-given right to be here. Well it is NOT Dr. Grey, I assure you. You are here because *I* allow it. You are here to do what I say, and the one thing I ask you to do, you can’t even save--”
“Richard!” Derek interrupts. “We can’t save everybody.“
“We should try harder,” he answers. “We should try harder.”
The Chief leaves.
~*~*~
Sarah-Beth visits Michael, and Alex tells her that they’re about to take him to the OR. Lexie tells her that he wrote her a letter, but Sarah-Beth isn’t interested. She starts to leave, but Lexie quickly calls out, “Sarah-Beth!”
She stops, and Lexie adds, “That wasn’t me, that was the letter.” Sarah-Beth turns around, wondering what Lexie is doing, but Lexie just continues to read, “I know you hate me—um, again, it’s not me, it’s the letter-I-I’m just gonna read—Um, I know you hate me right now,” she starts again. “And you have every right too. I betrayed you. I betrayed our marriage, but I had lost my job and I couldn’t tell you, so I told Anna instead.”
A silent Michael glances hesitantly at his wife as Lexie continues, “Which was wrong and stupid, and I’ve wanted to tell you a million times and let you know how truly sorry I am. But now I have no voice, so I’m begging you please, if you could just listen with your heart.” Lexie sighs. “That was so poetic. That was me, not him, sorry, uh—“ she goes back to reading, “If-if you could just listen with your heart when I tell you that I know you can’t forgive me right now, but I’m going to do everything in my power to make it up to you.” George and Alex also listen and Sarah-Beth gets tears in her eyes. “And no matter what happens, no matter what you decide to do,” Lexie reads. “I’m gonna love you until the end of time.” She glances up, then adds, “That’s the end, I’m done talking—well he’s done, it’s the end!” She lets out a soft laugh, setting down the notepad.
Sarah-Beth takes in a tearful breath, then silently turns and leaves the room.
~*~*~
Izzie comes out to tell Sarah-Beth and Anna about Betty, who’s memory they still don’t know about, and when Anna spots Meredith come out too, tears fill her eyes. “Oh no…oh please don’t say it.”
“I’m sorry, Vincent...very sorry.”
Both women start to break down, and when Anna tries to comfort Sarah-Beth, she quickly pulls away.
“Sarah-Beth,” Anna tries. “Vincent is dead. And Betty…we don’t know if she’s gonna be okay, and Phillip, and Michael—“
“Don’t you mention his name to me,” Sarah-Beth growls, pulling away from her ex-friend.
“Sarah-Beth, more bad things have happened to us today than have every happened before. We’ve been blessed before today,” Anna tells her. “I took it for granted. I took you for granted.” Her voice breaking, she adds, “We’ve been friends for 50 years, ever since we were little girls! And I made one awful, awful mistake, but I need my best friend.”
“You slept with my husband,” Sarah-Beth answers, tears streaming down her face.
“Please…”
“I’m gonna go see Betty,” Anna answers darkly. “I’m gonna go see my friend.” She leaves.
Meredith and Izzie watch her walk away, and Meredith says, “Sorry about teasing Alex.”
“I forgive you.”
~*~*~
Hunt finishes stitching up Cristina, telling her that in trauma surgery everything is, “Quick and dirty. No time to make things pretty and no time for mistakes.” He gives her a shot, and she asks, “No time for mistakes, huh? So what, you don’t make mistakes?”
“I make mistakes, people die.”
Cristina sighs. “I’m the best surgical resident in my program and…today I killed a man because I couldn’t do a stitch.”
“In the field you do what you can, you work with what you have,” he answers, taking off his gloves. “It’s about something, it’s not about being the best, it’s about saving lives.” He turns back to look at her. “I make mistakes. Guys die by my hands good guys. Guys that are fighting for their country in the desert. I don’t know everything, nobody does. So I make mistakes, and I learn, and next time I don’t make that mistake again, so the next guy, and the next guy? That guy? He lives.” Cristina continues to stare at him as he adds, “Mistakes are how you learn.” She turns over, still feeling bad about it.
~*~*~
Sarah-Beth and Anna are at Betty’s bedside. They ask her how she’s feeling, and she tells him that her head hurts. Betty asks what’s going on, and Anna tells her about the accident, Vincent.
“No, no, please, no,” Betty answers. “He’s in the other car, he’s gonna be here any minute!”
Anna looks tearfully at Izzie, who glances at the clock.
“My head,” Betty starts again. “It hurts. What happened?”
Izzie closes her eyes, swallowing hard.
~*~*~
Mark walks up to Michael’s room to find Lexie telling him, “It happens, people make mistakes. You know, they sleep with the wrong person and they hide it, but if you ask me, it’s the part that comes after that matters. The part where you make it right. And I think you’re off to a good start.”
~*~*~
Dr. Bailey finds Alex standing outside to tell him that she’s ready for Michael’s surgery now. He gloomily tells her that was ready an hour ago.
“And I’m ready now, booked the OR.”
“Fine.” Unenthusiastically, he turns to head back inside.
“Dr. Karev, what time is it?” Bailey calls out after him.
“It’s tomorrow,” he answers, not slowing down. “His insurance expired.”
~*~*~
Rose finds Derek and finally apologizes, telling him that “before you existed, I was good. Every doctor in this hospital wanted me in their OR. I was known as a damn good scrub nurse. And now I’m the crazy girl out of Fatal Attraction who goes around stabbing surgeons.”
Derek apologizes and tells her it’s okay. She tells him there’s an opening in Peds that she’s starting in tomorrow. “Again, very sorry about your hand.” With that, she leaves.
~*~*~
Mark tells Lexie that she’s never at a loss for words with her patients or with him, “so why not tell O’Malley?”
“You really are the last person who should be giving romantic advice.”
“When I like somebody I make sure they know it,” he answers. “Life’s too short to live any other way.”
He starts to leave, and Lexie blurts out, “What if he doesn’t like me back?”
Mark sighs. “Then he’s an idiot.” He leaves.
~*~*~
Izzie is writing up charts on Betty as Sarah-Beth and Anna sit on opposite sides of their friend’s room.
Betty wakes up. “What? What am I doing here? Where’s Vincent? Did something happen?”
Anna hangs her head, and Sarah-Beth answers, “I can’t. I can’t tell her anymore, I won’t.” Anna agrees. “I know.”
“Why don’t you two take a break,” Izzie offers. “Check on things.”
“I don’t want her to be alone,” Sarah-Beth answers, and Izzie assures her that she’ll sit with her. “I don’t mind.”
Anna gets up and squeezes her friend’s hand. She and Sarah-Beth head for the door, but Betty calls after them. “Am I in a hospital?”
“Oh honey,” Sarah-Beth answers, “There’s been an accident.”
“Where’s Vincent, is he okay?”
Neither of her friends can answer, and finally, Izzie answers, “Your husband is on his way, he’ll be here any minute.”
Betty perks up. “He’s on his way?”
“Yes,” Izzie tells her with a smile, glancing at Betty’s friends as she tells her, “He’s just around the corner, actually. If you watch the door, you’ll see him any minute. You’ll see him.”
“He’s on his way?”
“He’s on his way.”
“Around the corner?”
“Yes, around the corner.”
Her friends smile sadly at her. Izzie walks over to tell them that this is better for her.
“Thank you,” Sarah-Beth tells her, then grabs Anna’s hand. “Come on, let’s go check on our husbands.”
~*~*~
In the OR as they’re preparing for Michael’s surgery, Bailey glances at the clock. “Karev, I think that clock is wrong. It says 2:30 AM, but I’m pretty sure it’s actually only 11:58 pm, can you fix it please?”
“Set it back?”
“Set it back. It’s important that the official hospital records show the right time,” she answers pointedly. “And the insurance company needs it too. And I say it’s only 11:58 pm.”
Alex grins at her and goes over to turn the clock back.
“Scalpel.”
~*~*~
Cristina continues to watch Hunt fix her up. He tells her she’d be good on the battle field, that she should ditch this place, and she just laughs.
“You’re telling me that this place gives you a rush? A high?” he asks.
Cristina thinks a moment. “Yeah, yeah it does.”
The Chief walks in. He’s been looking for Hunt. He asks him how his leg is doing, and Cristina sits up as he tells The Chief that she took excellent care of him. The Chief said he made a few calls. He comes highly recommended. “I also heard a story that you constructed an OR table from an exploded humvee in the middle of the desert, is that true?”
“Well, you have to be innovative in the middle of the desert,” Hunt answers.
“You have to be innovated everywhere,” The Chief answers, then asks, “How would you like a job, Dr. Hunt?”
Hunt gets glances between them, shifting slightly uncomfortably, and tells The Chief that while he appreciates the offer, he’s due to go back to the sand pits.
“Well, good luck to you.” The Chief shakes his hand and leaves.
Hunt puts away his things, then closes the blinds, turning to look at Cristina.
“What?”
Without warning, he kisses her.
Cristina starts to get lost in the kiss, then suddenly breaks away with a laugh. “I, I, I don’t even know you.”
He smiles. “So?”
Without another word, he opens the blinds, grabs his stuff, and leaves.
~*~*~
Bailey, Derek, and Callie are all standing looking at their patient.
Callie: Might have been the hypothermia treatment.
Derek: Or my surgical skills.
Bailey: Oh we’ll never know.
Meredith joins them. “What’s going on?” Callie tells her that Philip can wiggle his toes. Bailey laughs, and Callie teases Derek, “Oh say it.”
“Don’t make me say it.”
“Please say it? Say it for me?” Bailey adds with a laugh. “Even though it’s technically not true, yet.”
Derek hesitates for a moment, then can’t help himself. He grins. “We made a man walk.”
“We made a man walk,” Bailey echoes excitedly.
“We made a man walk!” Callie agrees, grinning just as big as the other two. She and Bailey walk off, laughing.
Meredith and Derek watch Anna walk over to caress her husband’s cheek. She leans down to kiss him as he opens his eyes. “What a nice way to wake up.”
Derek studies Meredith watching them.
~*~*~
“Did you sleep with Meredith?” Lexie asks George.
“Yeah, yeah I did,” he answers, slightly confused as to why she’s asking.
“Why? I mean, sorry, where you in love with her?”
“I thought I was. But I was too scared to admit it, but I did know that she…did not, uh, like me that way and…I did it anyway. And I just, I questioned it because I’m, besides just being….so selfish, I—take advantage of her that way and I want her to want me like that, when clearly she—“ he hesitates. “Like I said, I made a lot of mistakes last year, but I’m trying to get back on track, and—“ he shrugs. “You know, I gotta do that by myself, so—“
“The only reason I, I wanted to help was because I, I fell like you and I are…more than just—roomates.”
“We are more than just roommates,” he answers easily.
Lexie’s breath catches. “We are?”
“Yeah, we’re friends. I mean, right now you’re probably one of my best friends.”
“Best friend…” she smiles.
They watch Sarah-Beth come back to her husband’s room. She stares at him solemnly a moment, then finally approaches his bed, takes a deep breath, and cups his cheek. She kisses him, leaning her forehead against his.
~*~*~
As Callie’s on her way out of the hospital, she spots Hahn, and tells her that she’s not a person who experiments. “But then you showed up, and we did it together, and the experiment was kind of a success.”
“Oh.” Hahn looks at her a moment, then it suddenly hits her. “Oh!”
Callie smiles. “Look, I’ve never done this before,” she admits. “I’ve never kissed a girl. I’m not sure I even like kissing girls. I don’t, actually, like kissing girls. I just…like kissing one girl. You.”
“I don’t have anything to compare it with,” Hahn admits. “You’re the only woman I’ve ever kissed.”
“So you’re freaking out too?” Callie asks with a laugh.
“A lot of therapy time.”
“Yeah I don’t do therapy, I just get all Ahhhhh! And then I get clingy and—okay, you don’t need to know that yet.”
Hahn laughs.
“Does this…? So this kind of makes us virgins, then doesn’t it?” Callie asks as they head out.
“I guess in a way it does.”
“Virgins. Hey, we could be scared together.”
“Kinda virgins,” Hahn corrects. “And yeah, we could be scared together.”
They both grin as they head out.
~*~*~
Meredith helps Cristina into bed. “You said that Derek and I would never make it.”
“And then I was karmically impaled!
