GRA's Hottest Female TV Character Awards Winners

January 23rd 2008 20:26

12 lovely ladies were nominated by you for the Golden Remote Award: Hottest Female TV Character!

And now, without further ado, here are the top three!

~*~*~*~*~*~*~

In 3rd Place with the Bronze Remote: Beth Turner (Sophia Myles) of Moonlight

Sophia (On her character): I feel like I really get her now. I love it when they write humor into it for the two of us because Alex and I love comedy. I don’t like it when they give me a gun. It makes me very uncomfortable.

In 2nd Placewith the Silver Remote: Angela Montenegro (Michaela Conlin) of Bones

Q) What is your most memorable moment from filming?

A) I think it would probably be during the pilot when Angela and Brennan have a scene, which is really just the two of them talking on a bench. It’s kind of a heart-to-heart, but it’s so rare as a woman on a TV series to have a character that has more than one side to her. I remember, in that moment when we’re shooting the pilot, thinking that the scene was just incredibly well written. The women are full and complex. They are not just these kind of mean caricatures of women in an office, they are kind of full, human and honest and they have a very real friendship. I remember we were filming that scene and thinking that it is hard to get a job like this, where you feel like the woman you are portraying is a full human being and she’s not just one thing. She can get mad, she has a sense of humor, she’s really smart and educated and she has opinions. I remember, when we were filming that scene, that it was so nice to have the liberty to show all that.

And finally in 1st place with the Golden Remote: Dr. Temperance 'Bones' Brennan (Emily Deschanel) of Bones

I love doing a show where I can go back and forth between drama and comedy. I think that having the comedy makes the drama better, and richer, and stronger. I think vice versa, having the drama makes the comedy funnier. I think when something’s too one-sided or one-note, or it’s only dramatic, it becomes kind of sappy or cheesy. And when it’s funny all the time, it seems like it’s trying too hard.

And how are you most different and most similar from your character?

I think I’m most similar with my character in the way that we can get wrapped up in our work, and kind of forget our personal lives. I can relate to my character in a lot of different ways. I’ve been in situations where I’ve put up walls in front of myself, like she has. I think she’s more extreme than I am, but there’s a lot of things that are not like my character. I hope I’m socially a little more at ease with people than she is.

Well, judging from how the voting is going, it doesn't look like you have anything to worry about.
