"Chuck" Premiere
September 25th 2007 01:56
Nine minutes into this show I knew I was going to like it. What can I say, a spy show with a great sense of humor? It’s like a hilarious version of 24. The show starts out with the main character, Chuck, and his best friend Morgan trying to sneak out of Chuck’s own birthday party because they don’t know anyone who was invited.
Chuck and Morgan are members of the (Best Buy Geek Squad parody) Buy More Nerd Herd—which is right next to the Large Mart if you’re looking for a road map. Chuck’s college roommate Brice, who isn’t an accountant by the way, steals top secret information and e-mails it to Chuck just before he dies. Chuck picks up the e-mail and unknowingly downloads all the information into his brain. He gets flashes of information about people and things that he has no idea how he knows about, and therefore decides he’s losing his mind. Now both the CIA and the NSA want him.
A beautiful woman named Sarah—working for the CIA—shows up with phone problems, as does a dad with his ballerina daughter who wonders why his DV digital camera isn’t playing back the recital. Chuck: “Sir, you don’t have a tape in it.” Dad: “But it’s digital…” haha
When Chuck goes home, he opens the door and he and Morgan suddenly catch a dressed all in black Ninja-like figure in the process of stealing Chuck’s computer in a nearly all white room. Very funny shot. The computer is destroyed and we find out that…dun, dun, dun, the “Ninja” is the same Sarah from Buy More.
And that’s just the first fifteen minutes. I recommend this show if you like spy stuff, and even more if you love to laugh. Maybe it’s just the “Nerd” in me, but I totally relate to the Geek humor. Not to mention the whole secret government conspiracy thing…LoL
