Bones: The Bullet in the Brain
February 3rd 2011 18:56
The city anxiously anticipates the arrival of Heather Taffet, more notoriously known as "The Gravedigger," for her final appeal after being sentenced to death for a kidnap-murder and a series of similar coldblooded crimes. But when a bullet targeted at The Gravedigger is fired from a distance and hits her, the Jeffersonian team is tasked to piece together the sniper's precise location as well as identify the suspect and his motives. With the help of probing investigator Caroline Julian, Booth and Brennan put together a list of likely suspects, but the evidence and the remarkable skill needed to pull off the crime leads the team to believe that the crime was an inside, professional job, leaving Brennan's father Max and even Booth as plausible suspects. Meanwhile, Sweets attempts to put on a brave face after being caught in the firestorm just moments following a chilly encounter with The Gravedigger.
-FOXHeather Taffet: I'm the lucky one, Lance. If my appeal falls through I die. But you're forced to live everyday as a repressed immature imbecile spouting canned theories to people who don't really care. Everyone knows who's the weakest link in the chain. You testify at my appeal and I'm going to walk.
~*~*~
Caroline: Don't just stand there! We got a shrink who needs shrunk. And a headless child-killer in a puddle of brains.
Booth: Who's going to take witness statements?
Caroline: Does it matter? That shot came out of nowhere, straight from God.
~*~*~
Caroline: You'd think when a highly trained world class sniper witnesses an assassination we'd have it all sewn up.
Booth: I could say .the same thing about the United States attorney.
Caroline: I'm too short to see a damn thing!
~*~*~
James Kent: Some of us were going to testify.
Booth: Guess that won't be necessary.
James Kent: Nope.
Booth: How do you feel about that?
James Kent: How do I feel? This woman buried my children alive. I couldn't identify their bodies. That's how I feel about that.
~*~*~
Caroline: You can't exonerate a person for excessive perispiration!
~*~*~
Angela : That's taking it a little far, don't you think?
Hodgins: A gift basket?
Angela : Your attitude. You're suggesting that you'd reward a killer for killing.
Hodgins: In this case, I would. I'd drive him to Mexico... Angie, Heather Taffet buried me alive. What do you want me to say?
Angela : get your point.
~*~*~
Bones : He was a sniper, and so are you. The lead members of a closed community always intersect. You must know him.
Booth:...I do.
~*~*~
Max: I'm sorry, honey.
Bones : Why are you apologizing?
Max: I just always thought you and Booth would get over the nonsense and settle down.
Bones : I don't want to talk about.
~*~*~
Angela : Uh, I think I know why you're here.
Max: Well, it's not to clear my good name. That- that ship saild a long time ago. I really don't care what anybody thinks unless it's my daughter.
~*~*~
Booth: Broadsky purchased land. 10 acres of the highway.
Sweets: Under the name of another sniper?
Booth: Booth... This is between me and him.
~*~*~
Booth: Stop, Jake. I'm warning you.
Jacob Broadsky: Go ahead. Jump the fence. Don't wait for the warrant.
Booth: (jumps fence) I don't need a warrant. This land belongs to Seely Booth.
