All that I desire to point out is the general principle that Life imitates Art far more than Art imitates Life.-Oscar Wilde
Feeling nostalgic, I set out to find a little slice of my childhood—the cartoons I used to watch, the theme songs I’d never forget. As I searched, I was reminded more and more of all TV shows I used to watch, grinned at the memories they brought up, and even felt a little tearful at a time in the world we’d never get back. Things just seemed so much simpler back then.
As more familiar shows began popping up in related videos, I decided, why stop at cartoons? And so began my search for all TV shows I remember watching (that I could actually find the credits for anyway). I couldn’t believe how many shows I’d actually forgotten about that, cue the theme song, brought about a laugh of surprise, followed instantly by the sudden need to go watch again.
Thus, I present to you, a life in TV opening credits! Some shows I only caught in reruns, some of them are just a hazy half-remembered memory, but all of them have brought me to where I am today. So thank you creative minds of the past, present, and future! You have inspired me more than you will ever know!
Jem
My Little Pony-Original
Rainbow Bright
Strawberry Shortcake
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
He-Man and She-Ra (I remember them, had their action figures, but I don't remember the openings to the TV shows very well)
Today marks the start of March Madness here in the US, which means TV will be taking a break for basketball. But that doesn't mean we have to take a break from TV
Thanks to TV Guide, here's a first look at what TV shows have been renewed, are looking like they will get renewed, are in danger of being canceled, and those that have already been canceled or are ending. I've bolded those covered by TV Chit Chat for easier eye scanning.
Since things are a little slow around here lately, I thought I'd post a few spoilery tidbits I've found around the net. Just in case you missed the title and the previous sentence, I will reiterate that this is a SPOILER POST! Do not continue reading if you don't want to know what may or may not happen in the following shows.
Good, bad, or indifferent, TV dads have certainly evolved over the years. From the more innocent days of the Andy Griffith and Dick Van Dyke shows, to today’s Homer Simpson and Tony Soprano, dads have graced our silver screen, braving the world in all their wonderful protective, heroic, bumbling, man-child greatness. Today’s TV dad is far from perfect. They’re beautifully flawed, and that’s why we love them
First off, I know what you’re thinking. You were gone finale week?! Yes, yes I was. But have no fear, I’m back and all caught up with this season’s finales, and let me just say one thing: There was a lot of yelling at the TV this season.
In three days, the people of TV will get together to congratulate each other on their awesomeness of making it through a Writers’ Strike shortened season. But a look at the list of nominees makes me think, wait a second, there’s some good people missing here
The list of every event and guest is super long, so I tried to catch all the tvchitchat-related events to post them here for your scheduling pleasure. So here we go...
I can’t believe it, but as of yesterday, it’s been a year since I took over the blogging of TV Chit Chat, and what a year it’s been! Aside from the (dare utter it?) Writers’ Strike and lack of awards shows, there were some definite quotable quotes, *GASP!* moments, and great new shows actually worth watching. And so, in honor of this season, I thought it only appropriate to recap the year in the form of…*ahem* original parody of a popular song
Okay, the past two weeks have been super busy around here, so I’m doing something a little different for a while…okay maybe just until next week, but there were so many *GASP! * moments in TV the past two weeks, that I couldn’t wait until my official full-length recaps to talk to you guys
