I can’t believe it, but as of yesterday, it’s been a year since I took over the blogging of TV Chit Chat, and what a year it’s been! Aside from the (dare utter it?) Writers’ Strike and lack of awards shows, there were some definite quotable quotes, *GASP!* moments, and great new shows actually worth watching. And so, in honor of this season, I thought it only appropriate to recap the year in the form of…*ahem* original parody of a popular song…

*CUE PIANO MAN MUSIC*

(Why am I having a Bones moment? Oh right…)

*sits down at the piano and pulls out the harmonica*

And here, for those of you who like to read parodies along with the actual song...

On with the show!!

It’s nine o’clock at my computer
The regular fans loggin’ in
There’s a TV sitting next to me
Still wonderin’ what happened to Jin.

He says, “Sun can you bring back the time machine?
I’m not really sure where it is,
But it’s buried, once cone-shaped, now probably black
Locke knows, but Jack’s better with this.

la la la didi daaa
la la didi daa
daa dum

Play us a show, you’re the TV set
Play us a show tonight
Well we’re all in the mood for a tragedy
With comedy written in just right

Now Dean in the car is a friend of mine
And Sammy yeah he’s in there too
They’re quick with the joke
Or to pull out The Colt
But there’s demons and more than a few

Dean says, “Sam, I believe this is killing me,”
As Bela ran away with the gun
“Well I’m sure that I could get out of this deal
But dude, you for me, that’s not fun.”

Oh la la la didi daaa
la la didi daa
daa dum

Now Bones, she’s a best-selling novelist
Who never has time for a life
She and Booth in therapy, and Sweets doing pottery
And still no Squint wedding in sight

And the “Mc” thing is still on at Seattle Grace
And Dr. House and his cane are alone
Because Wilson and Amber are now a thing
And poor Sloan is now all on his own

Play us a show, you’re the TV set
Play us a show tonight
Well we’re all in the mood for a tragedy
With comedy written in just right

Mick and Beth have to deal with the “human thing”
And Josef redecorates with a smile
But they know Coraline and the writers will try
To tease, break them up for a while

And the music brings tears to my little eyes
And the lighting reminds me of noir
And if it doesn’t come back and they stake Mick St. John
As Josef says, CBS “It’s SO ON!”

Oh la la la didi daaa
la la didi daa
daa dum

Play us a show, you’re the TV set
Play us a show tonight
Well we’re all in the mood for a tragedy
With comedy written in just right

*Looks around* Um...okay, what do we do now? Don’t be alarmed. We can get through this together! ;P In fact, there are even a few summer shows actually worth watching this year. So kick back, relax, and give that remote finger a rest, because all hope is not lost!
