Bones: Intern in the Incinerator
November 7th 2007 04:53
A charred body is found in the Jeffersonian incinerator and Angela recognizes it as an intern the second she sees the skull. The “supreme honcho” from the Jeffersonian is called in and it turns out the intern, Kristen, was an ex employees daughter. She was also working in the artifact authentication department and was seeing a married man who also worked at the Jeffersonian.
Meanwhile, Cam asks Booth to go to her dad’s 60th birthday party pretending to be her boyfriend. He begrudgingly agrees and buys her dad a universal remote and batteries. Cam’s competitive sister shows up and kisses Booth while Cam’s grabbing her things from her office, and when Booth tells Hodgins, he can’t stop laughing at Booth’s problem. Booth reminds him that he could pull out his gun and shoot him at any moment.
Bones has to tell a man his daughter is dead for the first time, something she finds “incredibly unpleasant”.
Gormogon iconography turns up in the unsolved Widow’s Son evidence, and since Kristen was working the authentication of the artifacts, everyone starts to think it may have a connection to the cannibalistic serial killer. Everyone except Booth and Cam that is. The serial killer is now known as Gormogon.
As Booth and Bones are arguing over the nickname, a body falls past the window outside. They rush outside with security and find…Zack and Hodgins and a dummy. They threw it off the roof to figure out that Kristen was dropped into the incinerator from the top floor. A Dr. Kyle Aldrige who works in the connecting building becomes the top suspect. His workroom is covered in wiped up blood and the good doctor later turns up hanging in the Gormogon vault.
From looking at the victim’s body the team discovers she fell on something sharp and copper. It turns out another Jeffersonian employee was involved in a Middle East smuggling operation and Kristen found out. Aldridge pushed her and threatened to expose his smuggling operation if he didn’t help him hide the body.
Cam’s sister shows up for lunch with Cam just after Booth tells her she kissed him. Cam gets mad because she realizes that’s why her sister was being so nice to her at dinner, she’d thought she’d stolen Booth from her! The sisters start fighting, Booth tells them they’re fighting over something that doesn’t even exist, seeing as how he and Cam broke up a long time ago. Somehow in the course of the argument both Cam and her sister end up yelling at Booth. They leave together telling Booth he needs to calm down. Poor Booth has no idea what he just did.
Booth and Bones discuss the results of the case over a Russian drinking game, during which Booth still can’t get Gormogon’s name right. Booth tells her she was offended because the killer wasn’t Gormogon and because the murder took place in her own home, The Jeffersonian. Bones denies that, reminding him that The Jeffersonian isn’t her home, but Booth reminds her that he knows her password is daffodil, and if she would change it the next two choices would be daisy then Jupiter. Bones admits she spends a lot of time there and then tells Booth that she was offended because the killer was one of her own. She asks him if he’s going to betray her too and he assures her he won’t. They smile, take another drink, and when they go to smash their last paper cups, Bones knocks hers off the table.
PS-the best way to get an almost 7ft. spear (or weapon of choice) past the Jeffersonian security? Mail it.
Quotes of the week:
Zack: We’re calling him Gormogon now.
Hodgins: Excellent! And historically accurate.

Booth (to the security guards): Alright that’s it. No shooting of the squints tonight, sorry.
