As per request, this week's Song of the Week is also a Moby song. The Sky is Broken was featured in The X-files episode "All Things", written and directed by Gillian Anderson. The song was heard both in the beginning and end of the episode with little hints throughout the entire episode. Very atmospheric with a meszmorizing feel. Fit the episode perfectly...not to mention one of my favorite scenes.
Get a sneak peek at the upcoming season of Bones with E! Online's Watch with Kristin. This is the London episode if you're wondering, and it feels like an ending to me, so if you don't want to be spoiled, don't watch! Otherwise, enjoy!
Despite the stake through the heart (or should I now say decapitation and burning?) CBS gave our beloved vampire, it looks like Alex O'Loughlin is still coming back. Only he won't be playing Mick St. John. [ Click here to read more ]
The Primetime Emmy Awards turns 60 this year! Whoohoo! *Happy birthday to you...* As a celebration they're actually having the awards. Er, I mean, they're letting us, the fans, choose the most memorable moments in TV history. There will be a winner in both comedy and drama, so make sure you check out both categories! And talk about a hard choice...
This week's song is Moby's "My Weakness". The song was featured on the Season 7 episode of The X-files, Closure, and I cannot hear it without thinking about Mulder's search for his siter...*sniff* The whole scene was done beautifully!
If Magazine sat down with composer Mark Snow to talk about how the recent X-files soundtrack is both different and the same as the series. Highlights below.
Looks like the Supernatural crew is going the X-files way (a la Post-modern Prometheus) and planning a classic black-and-white episode. I was browsing through my EW this week, and what should I spot in The Ausiello Files but this!:
The show is staging an entirely B&W episode this fall. "It's an homage to the horror films of the '30s," says series creator Eric Kripke. "The boys are up against Dracula, the Wolfman, and the Mummy." Somewhere, a Frankenstein's monster just shed a single tear.
Very funny 60 seconds of David Duchovny interviewing Gillian Anderson, then a very funny 60 seconds of Gillian interviewing David. Love it! Definitely two of the best interviews yet!
Like most of you, I too am shocked to hear that actor and comedian Bernie Mac has died at the young age of only 50 years old. He will be missed and our hearts and prayers go out to his family.
2,008 drummers banging out a precise countdown on light-up drums and glowing red drumsticks is definitely one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen. But that was just of the beginning of what 15,000 different performers and one of the best stages I have ever seen can do. By now you should know that I’m talking about the 2008 Summer Olympic Games which kicked off tonight 8/8/08 in Beijing, China! [ Click here to read more ]
Operation: Renew Moonlight continues! If you live in the Los Angeles area, look for Moonlight ads to start showing up on buses beginning August 18! Any New York fans seen the ad on billboards or cabs yet?
Here we go for some new X-files tidbits! First off, there's a great interview with David and Gillian over at Deadbolt. Some exerpts below...I love how they joke with each other about everything.
A lot of fans would say, "On the show, Mulder was always saving Scully..."
I don't know how I could have missed this hilarious "Ghostfacers" site. Supernatural fans, you must see THIS. That "What we think sucks" part is too funny! 1. Sam and Dean 2. Clowns
The Buy More Nerd Herd/Spy music starts and you know you've heard it before. You can't put your finger on it, but you know that tune...it's...This week's Song of the Week! The theme song from NBC's Chuck just happens to be Cake's Short Skirt/Long Jacket. Enjoy!
