And of course, it wouldn’t be a post without quotes of the week!

Quotes from the red carpet:

Johnny Depp when asked what he was wearing: “Clothes!” (He later tells us that it’s Armani )

Jason Bateman, on George Clooney's hair: It’s amazing how real it looks, isn’t it?

Quotes from the show:

Jon Stewart: Of course there is still obviously some collateral damage from the strike. Emotionally, economically—perhaps worst of all, the cancellation of the legendary Vanity Fair Oscar party. Uh, they said they did it out of, quote “respect for the writers.” And uh—Oh! You know another way they could show respect for writers? Uh, maybe one day invite some of them to the Vanity Fair Oscar party!

Jon Stewart: "In case you're wondering what we all do here during the commercial breaks, mostly we just sit around making catty remarks about the outfits you're wearing at home. That's right, it cuts both ways, people."

Ethan Coen, after winning “Adapted Screenplay” and accepting for “Best Director” with his brother, Joel for No Country for Old Men.: "I don't have a lot to add to what I said earlier. Thanks."

Marion Cotillard, overwhelmed with her win for “Best Actress” for La Vie En Rose,: "I’m speechless…Thank you life, thank you love. And it is true that there (are) some angels in this city.”

Jon Stewart: "Even Norbit' got a nomination, which I think is great. Too often, the academy ignores movies that aren't good."

Tilda Swinton, thanking co-star George Clooney after winning best supporting actress for Michael Clayton: “George Clooney, you know, the seriousness and the dedication to your art, seeing you climb into that rubber batsuit from ‘Batman & Robin’ — the one with the nipples, every morning under your costume, on the set, off the set, hanging upside-down at lunch — you rock man.”

Jon Stewart on this year's presidential campaign: “Normally when you see a black man or a woman president, an asteroid is about to hit the Statue of Liberty.”

Someone asks what it was like to be back playing Mulder and Scully after all these years...

What are the hardest scenes to do?

Very funny clip on if there was anything they didn't do in the show that they would have liked to...

If this movie goes well, expect more!! YAY!

Lost: Eggtown

February 22nd 2008 21:47

It’s a Kate-centered episode! Kate tries to talk Locke into telling her where Miles is, but he refuses. She steps outside, spots Hurley carrying a lunch tray somewhere, and runs up and tells him that Locke wants her to take Miles his lunch. Hurley is all to glad to let her, seeing as how Miles freaks him out. He doesn’t realize until she tricks him into telling her he moved Miles to the boathouse that Kate “Scooby-Do”ed him. She feels bad about it and assures him that she won’t let Locke know.

Kate goes to visit Miles and asks him if he knows who she is, what she’s done. Miles just asks, why, “What’d you do?” He negotiates a deal with Kate: She gives him one minute with Ben, he’ll tell her everything he knows about her. Kate goes to Sawyer for help.

He’s trying to read while Hurley decides what movie to watch, and when Kate shows up, they go to talk in the kitchen. Sawyer lets Kate know that she’s not very good at this. If she’s going to use him, she might as well just come out and say it. So she does. She tells him she needs to use him to get Ben out.

Under the pretense of a backgammon game, Sawyer visits Locke and tells him that Kate came asking him to help bust Ben out. Locke starts to get nervous. He says nobody knows where Miles is, but Sawyer points out that if Hurly knows, everyone knows. Locke grabs his gun and runs out.

They show up at the boathouse and find out that Miles is gone. Sawyer pretends to be shocked.

Back in Locke’s basement, Kate shoots off the lock and shoves Miles in to see Ben. They both seem surprised to see each other. Miles lets Ben know that “he” has been looking for him for a very very long time. And now Miles knows where he is. Miles tells Ben that he could tell “him” that Ben was already dead when he got here…for the mere payment of $3.2 million dollars. He gives Ben 2 days. When Ben points out that he’s a little tied up at the moment, Miles gives him a week.

Miles’s minute is up. Kate shoves him back outside. They meet Locke and Sawyer at the stairs. Locke tells Kate to go back to her house. When she looks like she’s going to argue, Sawyer just shakes his head. Kate leaves and goes back to the house she’s sharing with Claire and Aaron.

Kate helps Claire put the laundry up on the line and when Aaron starts crying, Claire asks her if she could get him. Kate looks at Aaron uncomfortably and admits she’s not very good with babies. Claire just grins, hands Kate the laundry, and goes to pick up the baby herself. She admits that of all things, she never thought she’d be a good mom either.

Meanwhile…

Team Jack are wondering why they can’t reach Sayid and Desmond on the boat. They ask Daniel and Charlotte, but they say they have no idea. Jack says, “You’re telling me there’s only one line on that boat?” Charlotte admits that there is another number, but they’re only supposed to call in an emergency. Juliet takes the phone and hands it to Charlotte, saying, “It’s an emergency.” Jack tells her to keep it on speaker phone.

Charlotte calls the boat, gets an answer, and is asked why she’s calling on this number. She says it’s because no one was answering the other one, then tells the woman on the other end of the line that the people on The Island want to talk to their friends to make sure they got there okay. The response? “What friends?”

Jack and Juliet exchange a look as they’re informed that the helicopter didn’t arrive. They thought it was on the boat, and the boat people thought it was on The Island. Not good. Apparently Sayid and Desmond have been trapped somewhere over the ocean for a whole day…

FLASH FORWARD:

Kate is trying to get through her trial. Her lawyer insists that they should bring in “him” and Kate tells him that no way are they bringing in “my son.” Yep, you read right, son. Her lawyer tells her they’re really running out of options, seeing as how the other side has her mother as a witness. He reminds Kate that she confessed to killing her father to her mother.

Kate still refuses, and her lawyer brings in Jack. Jack gets on the stand and tells the courtroom that Kate was the hero. That only eight of them survived the crash and she saved his life and the others. Kate can’t take it anymore and stands up telling him to stop. She tells the judge that this is her trial and she doesn’t want Jack to say any more.

The prosecutor stands up and simply says that it’s okay. She only has one question for Jack. She looks pointedly at Jack and asks him if he loves Kate. Kate and her lawyer object, but the Judge reminds them that they’re the ones who brought Jack in to speak on behalf of Kate’s character. They wait for the answer and Jack is asked again if he loves Kate. He looks at her a long moment then says, “No. Not anymore.”

BACK TO THE ISLAND:

Kate can’t sleep. Claire gets up and asks her if she’s okay, and Kate says that she is. She asks if she woke Aaron, and Claire insists that the baby was born on The Island so he can sleep through anything. Suddenly Locke shows up.

He asks Claire if he can talk to Kate alone, and when she hesitates, Kate assures her that it’s okay. As Claire leaves, Kate turns to Locke and starts to apologize. He interrupts her, telling her that she’s not welcome there anymore. He expects her to be gone by morning. Locke leaves.

Kate shows up in Sawyer’s room and tells him that Locke’s told her to get out in the morning. Sawyer just asks, “What, he banished you?” When Kate doesn’t deny it, he just grins, pulls her forward and says, “Well I un-banish you. You can stay right here. Because this is my house.” *the toilet flushes* “Okay, me and Montezuma’s house.” He tells her, “You’re gonna be all right. I’m gonna keep you safe…” She kisses him.

Back at the beach, Charlotte asks Daniel what he remembers of 3 playing cards lying face-down. Daniel can only remember 2 of them. She tells him that’s progress, but he doesn’t think so…

Locke goes back to visit Miles, shoves a grenade into his mouth, tells him to bite down, and pulls out the pin. He tells him that one day Miles is going to tell him everything, “but in the meantime, you’re gonna keep your mouth shut.” He tells him to enjoy his breakfast and leaves.

Back in Sawyer’s room, he and Kate wake up.

Sawyer: Yeah, I'm cool, we didn't go all the way last night. I get it, you were sad. But, I mean, how can you resist after that whole, "I'll keep you safe thing".
*Kate turns away*
Kate: No, Sawyer.
Sawyer: What, what, what'd I say.
Kate: Just forget it.

He asks her if this is because she still thinks she’s pregnant. Kate assures him that it’s not, and she’s not. Sawyer is more than a little happy, reminding her that she didn’t want a baby any more than he did. “What would we do with a baby?” Kate starts to leave, Sawyer tells her that it’s okay, that one day she’ll get mad at Jack again and come running back to him. Kate slaps him and leaves.

FLASH FORWARD:

After Kate’s mom comes to talk to her and tells her that she won’t testify against her if she can see her grandson, Kate is furious at her mother wanting to make a deal. She says she wants her baby to have nothing to do with her. Yet, the next time they’re in the courtroom, Kate’s mother isn’t there to testify.

Kate makes a deal: 10 years probation and she won’t leave the state. She just wants this to be over. She insists that, “I have a child. I’m not going anywhere.”

Outside, Kate heads for her taxi, and Jack calls out after her. He tells Kate her lawyer told him where she was. She thanks him for what he said, and he tells her, “I just…I just wanted to tell you that, what I said in there…I didn’t mean it.”

When she asks him if he wants to come over for a while, he tells her he needs to get back to the hospital. Kate tells Jack she knows why he doesn’t want to see the baby, but if he ever changes his mind he’s welcome to come over.

Kate leaves, goes home, and heads upstairs to the baby’s room. The little boy yawns and wakes up. “Hi Mommy.”

Kate: “Hi Aaron.”

~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Well, I guess we now know Claire doesn’t make it off The Island. So are they counting Ben as one of the Oceanic 6? In that case we now know it’s Jack, Kate, Sayid, Hurley, Ben, and Aaron. But if not…

Quotes of the Week:

Kate: Are you taking that to Miles?
Hurley: Yeah.
Kate: Locke told me to do it.
Hurley: Good, that guy creeps me out.
Kate: He's still in the rec room, right?
Hurley: No, he's in the boat house......You just totally Scooby Do-ed me, didn't you?

In this Sayid-centered episode, we start exactly where we left off: with everyone lingering around the helicopter. Sayid goes over to Naomi’s body to close her eyes and finds a bracelet with the words, “N, I’ll always be with you. R.G.” He goes on to make a deal with Miles and Lapidus that if he brings back Charlotte, they have to take him to their boat. After a moment of considering this, they finally agree. Considering what happened the last time Jack and Locke faced off, Sayid makes Jack stay behind. Jack doesn’t trust Locke, and sends Kate to go with Sayid and Miles. When she asks him what he thinks is going to stop Locke from doing to her what he did to Naomi, Jack replies, “Sawyer won’t let him
